Killua Zoldyck began Hunter X Hunter as a cold-blooded assassin. Raised by his family as an emotionless and detached killer, friendship was a foreign concept to Killua. However, upon meeting Gon Freecss, he started to value a life besides his own. Gon taught Killua about concepts such as kindness and selflessness. By the end of the series, Killua was an entirely different person.

Now blessed with many friends, one wonders how Killua would get along with other anime characters. Would he seek out those who share Gon's values and character traits? Or would he naturally be drawn to calm, analytical minds similar to his own?

10 Shikamaru Nara's Emotional Intelligence Is A Lot Like Killua's

Shikamaru Using His Shadow Justu On Hidan Naruto

Logical and intelligent, Shikamaru's brain works just like Killua's. The Naruto shinobi understands the importance of planning, and refuses to act emotionally or impulsively. Instead, he treats battle like a chess game, thinking 10 moves ahead to give himself the advantage. Killua often finds himself frustrated with Gon, whose impulsive nature brings trouble. Killua wouldn't have that issue with Shikamaru and would feel at ease knowing he could rely on him when the time calls for it.

9 Satoru Gojo Could Teach Killua How To Live With Unrivalled Power

Satoru Gojo arrives on the battlefield (Jujutsu Kaisen).

The fan favorite of the trailblazing Jujutsu KaisenGojo Satoru's power is so vast that he treats even the strongest of curses as a minor inconvenience. A battle is fun for Gojo, secure in knowing his opponent poses no threat to 'The Honored One".

In many ways, Gojo is an older version of Killua, blessed with limitless potential. But Gojo lacks any kind of self-doubt, something young Killua struggles with from time to time. If Killua continues to progress at his current rate, his outlook could be the same: too powerful to be truly wary of anyone. Still, Gojo would be a useful sensei and friend to the young assassin.

8 Yami Sukehiro Shares Killua's Passion For Surpassing His Limits

Yami Sukehiro

Captain of Black Clover's notorious Black Bulls, Yami's character is defined by his rugged individualism. He doesn't care for titles or social standing, instead valuing hard work, loyalty, and the effort to surpass your limits. Immensely powerful, Yami has taken on the seemingly invincible and prevailed.

Killua shares Yami's love for surpassing his limits, doing so time and time again throughout the Chimera Ant arc. Additionally, the young assassin doesn't care for rank or role (he casually refers to chairman Netero as 'Old Man'). These two would appreciate each other's strength and develop a quick mutual respect.

7 Naruto's Personality Strongly Resembles Gon's

Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto Shippuden.

Although Killua finds himself frustrated at Gon's brashness, what essentially drew him to the young Hunter was Gon's unwavering kindness. There's no deception or ulterior motive with Gon - what you see is what you get.

Naruto is very much the same. He has all the attributes of your typical anime protagonist: impulsive, short-sighted and incredibly naive, but kind, loyal and selfless. Naruto shares Killua's competitive nature, desiring to improve so he can protect those who need protecting. Naruto and Killua would end up the best of friends.

6 Shoto Todoroki's Difficult Childhood Would Help Him Understand Killua

Calm and collected, Shoto is very much My Hero Academia's Killua. His stoic nature and natural intelligence compliment his mastery of his Quirk, making Shoto a formidable opponent despite his young age. Like Killua, Shoto survived a traumatic childhood, and some family hang-ups remain. But despite their cold upbringing, both Killua and Shoto have evolved into kindhearted individuals and carved out their own futures free from the shackles of their families.

5 Edward Elric Possesses The Traits Of Both Killua And Gon

fullmetal alchemist Edward leans forward and frowns

Like Killua, Edward is a prodigy. The youngest State Alchemist in Fullmetal Alchemist's history, Edward topped his own achievement when he saved the world from the Homunculi.

Edward embodies the traits of both Killua and Gon. He has Gon's compassion, relentlessness and occasional hot-headedness. But Edward tends to fight smart, sharing Killua's intelligence and strategic thinking. Despite being physically outmatched, Edward figured out the weaknesses of the Homunculi and bested them time after time. It was reminiscent of Killua when fighting the Chimera Ants.

4 Izuku Midoriya Is My Hero Academia's Gon

Deku in hospital bed

Izuku Midoriya is very much My Hero Academia's Gon. Unlike the young Hunter, his power isn't natural - it was passed down to him by All Might, the most recent of a long line of Heroes to possess the overwhelming Quirk called One For All. Aside from that, Midoriya is a mirror image of Gon.

Headstrong and reckless, Midoriya is driven by his concrete value of protecting the innocent. Like Gon, he doesn't consider his own life when taking action, viewing his own death as a necessary sacrifice. Seeing as Gon is Killua's best friend, it's not difficult to imagine Midoriya and Killua forming a similar relationship.

3 Kakashi Hatake Resembles Killua In A Variety Of Ways

Kakashi Hatake With Hidden Leaf Headband

Kakashi and Killua look like part of the same family. Kakashi's silver hair and impressive skill mean he'd effortlessly fit in with the Zoldycks. And like the assassin family, Kakashi's name is recognized throughout the world. He might be the closest thing Naruto has to a celebrity.

But it's Killua specifically that Kakashi most closely resembles. A laid back attitude masks a vigilant and observant individual, and Kakashi is always planning, always strategizing. Both characters care deeply for their loved ones - Kakashi would do anything for Team 7, and Killua would do the same for Gon. They say opposites attract, but it's hard to imagine Killua and Kakashi not making fast friends.

2 Tanjiro Kamado's Compassion Would Appeal To Killua's Newfound Emotional Development

Tanjiro Kamado cries during the climax of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.

While anime is full of kind and compassionate protagonists, Tanjiro takes this to an entirely different level. As a Demon Slayer, Tanjiro faces off against evil on a daily basis, yet this never sways his view of the world. He doesn't see his enemy as evil incarnate, instead sympathizing with demons, knowing they're also the victim.

His compassion was initially seen as a weakness, but it allows him to mentally recover from an exhausting job. Killua's own emotional development attracts him to compassionate individuals. Combine this with Killua's admiration for strength and he'd readily accept a friendship with Tanjiro.

1 L's Unrivalled Intellect Would Earn Killua's Admiration

L Gladly Explains His Plan

Before Killua befriends someone, he must respect them first. His friendship with Gon was born from an appreciation of his natural talent. Killua had yet to meet a child who rivalled his own level of prodigy until Gon arrived. Killua was also dismissive of the mighty Netero until his own Nen development aided him in accurately grasping Netero's true power.

If L and Killua were to meet, it would only take seconds for Killua to appreciate L's genius. Additionally, both L and Killua have no issue operating in a morally grey area. These common philosophies make the pair likely allies and friends.
