Hunger Games Rakes in $10.8M on Monday, Breaking Another Record

As if scoring the best opening weekend for a non-sequel and the third-best all around wasn't enough for The Hunger Games, the film continues to break records. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate's adaptation of Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel raked in a cool $10.8 million on a Monday, which has never been done before outside of long weekends, holidays and summer.

Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games has amassed $163.4 million, and shows no sign of slowing down. Between positive word of mouth and spring breaks that will find the film's target audience with free time, the studio could pull in as much as $300 million, according to some estimates.
