Gary Ross, who helmed Lionsgate's blockbuster adaptation of The Hunger Games, may be exchanging Panem for Neverland as, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he's begun negotiations to direct Peter and the Starcatchers for Disney.
The film is based on the 2004 young-adult novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson that serves as a prequel to J.M. Barrie’s classic Peter and Wendy, and delves into the back story of Peter Pan. Published by Disney's Hyperion Books, the novel was followed by four sequels, and was adapted as a play, which opened on Broadway this spring.
