In every installment of I Love Ya But You’re Strange I spotlight strange but ultimately endearing comic stories. Feel free to e-mail me at brianc@cbr.com if you have a suggestion for a future installment!

Reader Jonas wrote in to suggest this one.

"Defenders" #89 (by David A. Kraft, Ed Hannigan, Don Perlin and Pablo Marcos) saw the Defenders headed to the suburbs of New Jersey for the funeral of Patsy "Hellcat" Walker's mother. Now this would not be the end of her mother's story, and there's enough material just about Patsy and her mother for two more columns, so we'll leave that be for now, but suffice it to say that the Defenders are all doing their best to blend in in the suburbs for Patsy's sake, with Hulk transformed into Bruce Banner for the funeral.

After the funeral, the team is all at Patsy's mother's house with her housekeeper/cook, and they are making plans to make the house their new headquarters. However, the housekeeper needs some groceries to feed everyone, so she sends Valkyrie to do the job at the nearby grocery store. However, Valkyrie didn't get any money, so the housekeeper sent Bruce after Valkyrie with some money, and that sounds like a fine plan, just so long as nothing happens to make Bruce angry...but what are the odds of that not happening?

Man, so many great moments, from Hulk's reaction to the doors of the supermarket opening to the Hulk's impromptu shopping spree. Very funny stuff.

Of course, for dinner that night, the Hulk was very happy...

I don't know if the Defenders will be happy, though, when those beans go through the Hulk and, well, I don't know if a comic book has ever addressed what it is like when the Hulk passes gas, but I can't imagine that it is anything but awful.

Thanks to Jonas for the very funny suggestion! If anyone else has a suggestion for this column, feel free to e-mail me at brianc@cbr.com! I love hearing from you all!
