The boisterous former X-Men villain Juggernaut has always claimed to be virtually unstoppable. However, the Hulk traditionally has been one of the few Marvel characters capable of standing up to him. The powerful pair have fought many times over the years, and in Juggernaut #2 (by Fabian Nicieza and Ron Garney) the titular heavyweight again clashed with the Hulk to determine who really is stronger.

Juggernaut previously battled the Green Goliath during writer Peter David's 1990s run on The Incredible Hulk. They later had a rematch during World War Hulk. However, in Juggernaut #2, Cain Marko took on the Devil Hulk variation (most recently seen in Immortal Hulk) who isn't afraid to resort to brutal tactics. During the fight, the Juggernaut had a surprisingly humble moment in which he admitted he's not as strong as the Hulk. But against all odds, the reformed villain scraped out a victory.

Juggernaut Barely Defeated the Hulk

The Immortal Hulk was able to effortlessly throw around Juggernaut like a ragdoll. Eventually, Cain Marko's newest ally, a mutant named D-Cell, stepped in to help. She used her powers to control the Hulk's momentum, and drastically slowed down his movements. Unable to hold the Hulk in place, D-Cell observed the Green Goliath was far stronger than the Juggernaut, to which Marko agreed.

By showing humility, Juggernaut proved he was moving away from his destructive tendencies, and becoming a better person. Although Juggernaut ultimately won their confrontation, his victory was largely due to the help of D-Cell, and Damage Control's gamma-siphoning technology, rather than his own raw strength.

The Hulk's Power Outmatches Juggernaut's

Juggernaut #2 demonstrated that there's little Marko can do to hurt the Hulk, save knock him down when he's weakened. There's no denying the Juggernaut's strength, but it's still rewarding to see the Hulk vs. Juggernaut power debate finally settled.

Even in the heat of battle, the Juggernaut had to admit that the Hulk was stronger. This means that in the future Marko will have to be clever to defeat the Jade Giant. However, his team-up with D-Cell and Damage Control proves that, with the right team in place, their disparities in strength can be negated.
