If you're a fan of the Hulk, one of the great things is, apart from comics and cartoons, there are more than a few movies to see the beast in action. But before he was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and an Avenger, there was Ang Lee's Hulk, where Eric Bana starred as Bruce Banner. And while this movie is mostly forgotten, it's worth going back to because Hulk's funniest kill in it also happens to be Marvel's dumbest on-screen moment.

This moment occurred when Thunderbolt Ross' team found Bruce after his fight with the mutated dogs unleashed by his dad, David. Betty called her dad in, hoping they could help him, and he took Bruce to Desert Base where they experimented on him in aquatic tanks. Talbot led the charge, even inducing nightmares as he showed no mercy to Bruce.

This all culminated in Hulk escaping, more enraged than ever due to his repressed memories being triggered. Talbot, scared he would lose his shot to harness the behemoth's power, tried to subdue him using military-grade sticky foam. However, as he tried to inject a needle into Hulk's eye, the beast broke free once again. Talbot then grabbed an explosive round and fired it, but given that the Hulk was growing bigger and stronger the angrier he got, the round bounced off and got stuck in the wall behind Talbot. Obviously, it blew up, with Lee using a comic panel to humorously show flames behind Talbot, indicating he got blown to bits when it went off.

Rather than feel the weight of the death, Lee opted for a truly bizarre moment bereft of science and logic. Talbot was supposed to be the ultimate strategist, so there was no reason for him to think an explosive round could harm the Hulk. He saw the beast take missile hits, be fired on by tanks and all kinds of guns and repeatedly blown up. And the fact he fired the weapon in a confined space at close range just makes the whole thing even more peculiar.

To make matters worse, the film has no evidence to suggest Talbot could extract any genetic info using a needle. He had no conceivable way of puncturing, wounding or weakening the Hulk, and he tried anyway rather than just letting the beast go free and going back to the drawing board. After all, there were options available like the gamma dogs and Betty, whose expertise and connection could've allowed the military to try to separate some part of the beast from the man. But instead of trying any of those, Talbot died in a comedic manner, which left a major turning point in feeling anticlimactic.
