The following contains major spoilers for Hulk #10, on sale in August from Marvel Comics.

Marvel's Hulk may have met his match at the hands of an even bigger, more monstrous Hulk creature.

In the 2022 solicitations for Marvel Comics, the publisher unveiled new cover art and synopsis details for the upcoming Hulk #10. Coming from writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Ottley, the cover art sees Starship Hulk being crushed by an even larger Hulk creature during the "Hulk Planet" storyline. The synopsis reads, "Starship Hulk has found what should be the ultimate paradise – an entire planet of Hulk-like creatures thriving under the heat of a gamma star. But Bruce can’t shake thoughts of the past or the nagging suspicion that Monolith isn’t being totally honest about what she wants from the Hulk. And then there’s the matter of the planet’s 'welcoming committee'…"

Marvel's Hulk Finally Meets His Match in an Even Bigger, More Monstrous Hulk

Marvel previously announced that Hulk #9 will see Bruce Banner embark on a new journey following the events of the Banner of War crossover event. "Hulk Planet" will follow Banner as he takes Starship Hulk to a paradise of sorts that's built entirely for Hulks by Hulks. The planet is ruled by a character named Monolith, who may or may not be upfront about what she truly wants from Banner when welcoming him in.

“Donny Cates is the kind of writer that feeds the artist what they are best at and pushes them to new heights with what they can do," Ottley previously said of working on "Hulk Planet" and the introduction of Monolith. "He’s the type of writer that writes as if he has a billion dollar budget. Which is fine with me! I get to stretch my art skills and go all out. He knows my work well over the years and knows what I can do, and he knows what he wants to see me do. So we work amazingly well together and are having way too much fun slamming this book out and giving it everything we got."

He continued, "I’ve been designing and creating new characters with Donny on this run and issue #9 will be some completely new faces, with the most impactful being Monolith. She is a tall hulkish woman that became leader of this strange world our Hulk showed up on. And I can’t wait to show you all what we’ve made, the smashing shall be insane!”

Hulk #10 releases in August from Marvel. Hulk #9 releases July 13.
