WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Juggernaut #2 by Fabian Nicieza, Ron Garney, Matt Milla, and VC's Joe Sabino, on sale now.

If there is a single word that has always summed up everything about the Hulk, it's "strongest." Just because the emerald giant is the strongest doesn't mean he wins every fight he gets into, though. Then again, losing individual punch outs isn't the most important thing to the Hulk anymore, and hasn't been in quite some time.

Most recently the Hulk faced off against the Juggernaut in Juggernaut #2. When the Juggernaut's work with Damage Control puts young mutant D-Cel in harms way, he goes to great lengths to save her, and the two quickly form a friendship. D-Cel convinces her new friend that they need to get Damage Control behind her plan to have the Juggernaut take down the Hulk.

After luring the Hulk into their trap by having Juggernaut carry the fight where it needed to go, D-Cel and Damage Control spring into action. D-Cel uses her powers to stop the Hulk in his tracks, or at least slow him down enough for the next part of the plan to go into effect. While D-Cel holds him, the Damage Control team turns on their gamma syphon to pull Hulk's strength right out of him. With the Hulk in a weakened state and without enough speed to fight back, Juggernaut goes in for the K.O.

When things are all said and done, the Hulk is presented to a crowd in Marion, North Carolina, where he is made to listen to the people he has harmed from inside a specially designed cage. Smiling while being berated, the Hulk makes it clear that he could leave whenever he wants to when he rips his way out with ease. Instead of a rematch, the Hulk decides to use his words to put Cain Marko and everyone else working for Roxxon Corporation in their place before being teleported away by his home base.

The Hulk's loss to Juggernaut isn't what anyone would call a fair fight, with the assistance of D-Cel and Damage Control.  Still, this doesn't mean that the Hulk can't be taken down without tricks or traps, as evidenced by his less recent brawl with the Thing in last year's Fantastic Four #13 by Dan Slott and Sean Izaakse.

Fantastic Four Hulk Thing punch

At the time, the Hulk was under the complete control of Phillip Masters, aka the Puppet Master, who used the Hulk to interrupt his daughter Alicia's honeymoon with the Thing. The Puppet Master is out for blood, and pushes the Hulk to be as ruthless and brutal as possible. After suffering a severe beating at the hands of the Hulk, Ben is inspired by his wife and finds the strength to deliver a knock-out haymaker. This punch is so powerful that it not only lays the Hulk out cold, but shatters the stone epidermis of the Thing, exposing his muscle tissue underneath and landing him in a week long coma.

As embarrassing as they might be, a couple of losses aren't anything to worry about for the Hulk. Now in charge of an entire operation, the Hulk has set his sights higher than they have ever been before. The Hulk and Dr. Charlene McGowan have been fighting the media in an effort to protect Hulk's image, though the actions of Xenmu and Roxxon Corporation have kept that at the bottom of the bin so far. Whatever the next step is for Hulk, it really doesn't matter who gets in his way or even if they manage to defeat him. Considering that "immortal" doesn't mean what it used to for the green behemoth, his confidence might be shaken but the mental battle is still what's really important.
