After a stretch of time working in black and white, it looks as if "Logan's" entering its purple phase. Following the reveal of a promo photo of Logan walking in a purple sunset, "Logan" director James Mangold has shared a new pic on Twitter of Hugh Jackman's clawed hero -- a close up of him bathed in similarly violet light.

The image shows the rough and ready Logan, in his full beard and suit, turning and giving a "What the -- ?" look to the camera.

Like with the dozens of black and white pics before it, one has to wonder if these bright colors will appear in the film itself, or if it's just Mangold expressing himself artistically. After all, we know from the trailers that the film isn't in black and white, and it's also not this vibrant either. This is the second such purple photo we've seen, though, so perhaps there are more colors to be explored via proo pics before "Logan" arrives in theaters in March.

Set beyond the events of “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” 2017’s “Logan” is set in the near future following a cataclysmic event that ravaged the mutant race. It will also be Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine, and will introduce Dafne Keen as the character’s teenage clone X-23.

Directed by James Mangold, written by Michael Green, Scott Frank, James Mangold and David James Kelly, and starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Dafne Keen and Stephen Merchant, “Logan” arrives in theaters on March 3, 2017.
