Hugh Jackman Wants to See Wolverine, Avengers and Spider-Man Team Up

If you've ever wondered by Wolverine can fight alongside Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man in Marvel's comics but he can't do the same thing on the big screen, you're not alone, bub. Hugh Jackman has found himself wondering the same thing.

Asked by Collider at a recent press event for The Wolverine what it would take to see these superheroes team up in a movie, the star replied, "I literally asked the same question the other day to Tom from Marvel who works with all the other studios, he works with Sony and Fox, that’s his job to liaise. I said, ‘Man, can this happen?’ and he goes ‘Look, it’s not gonna be easy because you’re working with different studios and they’re their properties.’ But I believe — maybe I’m optimistic, I understand at Marvel they’ve got The Avengers, they’ve got a lot of big things going on, but at some point I just find it almost impossible that there’s not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together."

"It's not gonna be easy" is undoubtedly an understatement, considering it would involve the cooperation and coordination of three studios, who would have to agree on everything from financing and distribution to the director and script.

When that was brought up to Jackman, he merely smiled and said, "I don’t see the impediment!  I’m like, OK you’ve got three studios, just split it three ways in terms of the cost, and happy days it’s all coming together! I would love to … I’m in for it, I’m totally up for it because I think that would be really exciting for fans across the board.”

While it's nice to see Jackman excited about the possibility of a team-up movie, the odds of it happening are slim to none, and even that assessment is being optimistic. Still, its best chance of happening may be to put Jackman on the other side of the negotiating table from the studios' executives.
