Hugh Jackman to Star in 'Apostle Paul'

"X-Men" star Hugh Jackman will headline and produce Warner Bros.' biblical drama "Apostle Paul," Deadline reports.

Written by Matt Cook ("Triple 9," "By Way of "Helena"), the film tells the New Testament story of Saul of Tarsus, who persecuted the disciples of Jesus before undergoing a conversion on the road to Damascus and adopting the name Paul. He went on to become one of the most important figures in Christianity, serving as a teacher and influential leader in the early church, and writing at least seven books of the New Testament.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will produce under their Pearl Street banner, alongside Jackman, Jennifer Todd and Chris Clarke.
