Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Hugh Jackman's most drastic movie makeover to date. The actor has sheathes his Wolverine claws and picks up a sword for the role of Blackbeard in Pan, Warner Bros.' upcoming Peter Pan origin story. Jackman's pirate will be responsible for bringing a young wartime orphan named Peter to Neverland.

The origin story takes a number of liberties to make J.M. Barrie's classic -- and oft-adapted -- story fresh for a new generation. Instead of fighting Captain Hook, Peter (Levi Miller) will most likely team up with a younger version of the character, played by Garrett Hedlund, to fight Jackman's menacing Blackbeard. "This isn't exactly the Neverland story you know," director Joe Wright told EW.
