As we move closer to the release of the final "Logan" trailer, star Hugh Jackman this morning unveiled the official synopsis for his final appearance as Wolverine.

It's brief -- just two sentences -- and doesn't shed much light on director James Mangold's film, but it is official: "In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces."

We know that "Logan" is set years after the epilogue 0f 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past," and that the young mutant in question is Laura, better known as X-23, played by Dafne Keen. Add to that the involvement of the Reavers, the Marvel Comics team of criminal cyborgs led by Donald Pierce (played by Boyd Holbrook), as well as Caliban (Stephen Merchant), a mutant who can sense and track other mutants.

The film is Jackman's ninth, and apparently final, appearance as Wolverine, a role he originated on screen in 2000's "X-Men." “I’m really, really proud of this movie,” the actor recently said. “I was really keen that I didn’t leave the party feeling like I could dance more. I think I’m pretty much danced out, and I had a great time. It’s been an unbelievable ride, but it feels right.”
Opening March 3, "Logan" stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen.
