Making its debut in March of 2012, "Saga" was one of that year's most hotly anticipated books, and for good reason. "Saga" is written by powerhouse creator Brian K. Vaughan who was the scribe behind wildly popular comic series like "Y the Last Man," "Ex-Machina," "Runaways" and "Pride of Baghdad." "Saga" saw the veteran writer teaming up with artist Fiona Staples, who was fairly unknown before the series' launch but soon gained a large number of new fans. Staples blew readers away with her sprawling fantasy settings, bold character designs and eye for facial nuance. With two such talented creators at the helm it really is no surprise "Saga" has amassed a large and dedicated following.

The comic tells the story of Marko, Alana and their daughter Hazel -- two star crossed lovers who must raise a family in a dangerous yet wonderful universe. Although originally on opposite sides of an age-old conflict, Marko and Alana fell in love and as a result found themselves on the run from the armies they used to fight in. Wanted throughout the galaxy, Marko and Alana travel through space with their unconventional family, desperately searching for safety and refuge from the eternal war being raged around them.
