As the first installment of Marvel Studios' Phase Four, WandaVision is going to play a key role in setting up the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there are still a lot of details we don't know at this time, we're going to go through some of the ways we think WandaVision is going to change the MCU going forward.
There's a huge question as to just what Wanda Maximoff's role is going to be in the MCU following WandaVision. At this time, Elizabeth Olsen is slated to reprise her role for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it's entirely possible she'll be a villain in the future, though that's not confirmed at this time. Currently, there's a lot of speculation there's a different bad guy responsible for the events going on at Westview. This could then mean WandaVision is actually setting up a future villain.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could take going forward, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen.
