When fans of mega-popular anime series like Naruto watch all the episodes and familiarize themselves with the lore and combat system, the next step is to have fun exploring all the fluff details. Casual Naruto fans might not care that much about everyone's favorite foods or height/weight, but devoted fans may be curious about these personal details that help make Naruto's main characters feel more real. There's more to Naruto Uzumaki and his friends than their cool outfits and jutsu, after all.
The following characters' heights originate from Naruto's official Data Books, which make them canon, as well as from the anime model sheets. Each height is based on how tall the characters were in Part I, Part II and the Blank Period (the time between Chapters 699 and 700), as well as the Naruto Gaiden and other Boruto spinoffs that apply.
How Tall Is Naruto's Team 7?
A good place to start is Team 7, most importantly asking: How tall is Naruto Uzumaki? When Naruto was a child between ages 12 and 13, he was 145.3--147.5 cm (~4 ft 7-8 in), the shortest of his group. By the time he was 15, he shot up to 166 cm (~5 ft 5 in). As an adult, he topped out at 180 cm (~5 ft 11 in).
Sakura Haruno was 148.5--150.1 cm (~4 ft 10--11 in) as a child, 161 cm (~5 ft 3 in) as a teenager and 166 cm (~5 ft 4 in) as an adult. Sai was 172 cm (~5 ft 7 1/2 in) as a teenager and 176 cm (~5 ft 8 in) as an adult. Yamato is 178 cm (~5 ft 10 in).
How Tall are Sasuke and Taka?
Considering his rivalry with Naruto, a lot of fans are curious to know: how tall is Sasuke Uchiha? Sasuke started off at 150.8 cm–153.2 cm (~4 ft 11 in--5 ft), the tallest Genin on Team 7. He reached 168cm (~5 ft 6 in) as a teenager. As an adult, Sasuke measured just half an inch taller than Naruto, reaching 182 cm (~5 ft 11 1/2 in).
Suigetsu's recorded heights are 177.4 cm (~5 ft 10 in) and 178.6 cm. Karin goes from 162.6cm (5 ft 4 in) to 166 cm. Jūgo is a whopping 202.1 cm (~7 ft 7 1/2 in), and the series makes a point of it, too. He always wears a cloak because nobody can find a shirt big enough for him.
How Tall Is Team Minato?
Kakashi's only listed height is 181 cm (~5 ft 11 in). Rin died at a young age, so she only grew to be 143 cm (~4 ft 6 in). Obito, on the other hand, started off at 154.2 cm (~5 ft 1 in) and grew to 175 cm (~5 ft 9 in). Later, Obito measured in at 182 cm (~5 ft 11 1/2 in). Minato was 179.2 cm (~5 ft 10 1/2 in).
Jiraiya Was the Tallest of the Legendary Sannin
Jiraiya stands at a massive 191.2 cm (~6 ft 3 3/4 in). According to Studio Pierrot's model sheets, his sandals add another 7 cm. The studio also claims he was 153cm as a child. Orochimaru's height swings from 179.4 cm to 172 cm to 179.5 cm (~5 ft 9 in), presumably because of all the body-swapping. Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, remains consistently at 163.1 cm (5 ft 4 in).
Hiruzen and Tsunade Tie for Shortest Hokage
The first Hokage, Hashirama, was also the tallest at 185.1 cm (~6 ft 1 in). Hashirama's brother, the Second Hokage, Tobirama, was the second tallest at 182.3 cm (~6 ft), followed by the fourth Hokage, Minato. Third Hokage Hiruzen ties Tsunade for the title of shortest Hokage at 163.1 cm.
How Tall are Naruto's Closest Friends?
Naruto's friends have the broadest range of heights, partly because there are so many of them, but also because they've been growing since their introduction in Part I. On Team Guy, Rock Lee started at 158.5 cm–162.1 cm (~5 ft 2 in--5 ft 4 in), then in Part II, he measured 172 cm. By the Blank Period, Rock Lee hit 177 cm (~5 ft 9 1/2 in). Tenten was 154.3 cm–155.6 cm (~5 ft 3/4 in--5 ft 1 in), then grew to 164 cm and later reached 166 cm. Neji started at around 159.2 cm–160.1 (~5 ft 3 in); since he died in the Fourth Great Ninja War, he only grew to 172.1 cm (~5 ft 7 3/4 in). Might Guy got all the way up to 184 cm (~6 ft 1/4--1/5 in)before he was put in the wheelchair.
Team 10's Ino Yamanaka started off 149.3 cm–151.2cm (~4 ft 8 1/4 in-- 4 ft 11 3/4 in), and as a teenager, she grew to 162.2 (~5 ft 4 in). By the time she reached adulthood, Ino grew to 165cm (~5 ft 5 in), just under Sakura's final height. Shikamaru Nara started off 150.8 cm–152.1 cm (~4 ft 11 1/2 in-- 5 ft), progressed to 170 cm (~5 ft 7 in) and leveled out at 176 cm (~5 ft 9 3/4 in). Choji Akimichi measured 150.6 cm–156.3 cm (~4 ft 11 3/4 in-- 5 ft 1 1/2 in) as a child, grew to 172.5 cm (~5 ft 8 in) and finished off at 178 cm (~5 ft 10 in). Asuma was 190.8 cm (~6 ft 3 in), which makes him one of the tallest jonin and the tallest Sarutobi.
How tall is Hinata Hyuga, Naruto's dandere lover? On Team 8, Hinata measured 147.3 cm–148.3 cm (~4 ft 10 in-- 4 ft 10 1/2), making her taller than her future husband. Hinata jumped to 160 cm (~5 ft 3 in) as a teenager, but then topped out at 163 cm (~5 ft 4 in). Shino started at 156.2 cm–161.1 cm (5 ft 1 1/2 in-- 5 ft 3 1/2 in), went up to a decent 175.1 cm, then got up to 186.5 cm (~6 ft 1 1/2 in), making him the tallest of the Konoha 11. On two legs, Kiba starts at 151.2 cm–152.5 cm (~4 ft 11 1/2 cm- 5 ft), then grows to 169.1 cm (~5 ft 6 1/2 in), and, finally, ends off at 173 cm (~5 ft 8 in). Akamaru goes from 28 cm–29.1 cm (~ 1 ft) all the way to 127.2 cm (~4 ft 2 in), which Kiba feels makes him big enough to ride. Kurenai is only 169.1 cm, the shortest of the Konoha 11's commanding jonin.
How Tall is Konohamaru and Team Ebisu?
Since Konohamaru and his friends were only little kids in part I, they have some of the shortest human heights in the series. Konohamaru starts at 128.8 cm–130.6 cm (~4 ft 2 3/4 in-- 4 ft 3 1/2 in). By age 12, he reached 141.1 cm (4 ft 7 1/2 in), which is even shorter than Naruto when he was at the same age. When old enough to train Boruto, Konohamaru measured 177.5 cm (~5 ft 10 in). Likewise, Moegi goes from 121.8 cm (~ 4 ft)to 139 cm (~4 ft 6 3/4) to 165.5 cm (~5 ft 5 1/4). Udon started out at 127.5 cm (~4 ft 2 1/4) and grew to 142.9 cm (~4 ft 8 3/4), finally topping out at 175.5 cm (~5 ft 9 in). Ebisu measured a consistent and commendable 181.4 cm (~5 ft 11 1/2) throughout the series.
How Tall Are the Three Sand Siblings?
Gaara is the youngest and thus starts off as the shortest at 146.1 cm–148.1 cm (~4 ft 9 1/2 in-- 4 ft 10 1/4). Gaara reached Naruto's height at 166.1 cm as a teen, then topping off at 172.5 (~5ft 8 in), making him the second-tallest Sand Sibling. Kankurō starts off at 165 cm–167 cm (~5 ft 5 in-- 5 ft 5 3/4 in), which makes him taller than teenaged Gaara. Teen Kankuro was taller than adult Gaara at 175 cm, and he measured the tallest of the Sand Siblings with a final total of 180 cm. Temari, the trio's sister, started out at 157.3 cm–159.3 cm (~5 ft 2 in-- 5 ft 2 3/4 in), reached cm in her teens, and 170 cm as an adult, making her the tallest of the girls in Naruto's age range.
How Tall Are Naruto's Kage and Their Assistants?
The Fourth Raikage, who inherited the name "A" from his predecessors, towers over the other Kage at 198.2 cm (~6 ft 6 in). On the opposite end of the meter stick is the Third Tsuchikage Onoki, who shrinks from the already-short 130 cm (~4 ft 3 3/14 in) down to 83.6 cm (~2 ft 9 in) by the epilogue. Somewhere in the middle is the fifth Mizukage Mei Terumi at 174 cm (~5 ft 8 1/2 in). Mei is one of the tallest kunoichis in the series.
There are also the Kage's assistants to consider. The Fourth Raikage has Darui and C to make up for his missing arm. Darui stands at 176.5 cm (~5 ft 9 1/2 in) and, later, 185 cm (~6 ft 1 in). C is 172.2 cm (~5 ft 7 3/4 in). The Third Tsuchikage's Kurotsuchi is 163.66 cm (~5 ft 4 1/2 in), while Akatsuchi is 200 cm (~6 ft 6 3/4 in) and, later, 212.8 cm (~6 ft 11 3/4 in). Of everybody listed here, Akatsuchi is the tallest. Aiding the Fifth Mizukage, Chojuro is 163.6 cm, while Ao was 182 cm (~5 ft 11 3/4 in). Tsunade's loyal Shizune is 168 cm (~5 ft 6 1/4 in). Of these assistants, three of them go on to be the Kage of their respective villages around the same time as Naruto: Darui, Kurotsuchi, and Chojuro.
How Tall Are the Akatsuki?
The Akatsuki were a towering presence throughout a major portion of Naruto Shippuden, but how tall were they really? Itachi Uchiha has a fairly average height, going from 175.2 cm (~5 ft 9 in) to 178 cm (~5 ft 10 in) between Parts I and II. His partner Kisame Hoshigaki is the tallest of the group at 195 cm (~6 ft 4 3/4 in). Deidara is only 166 cm, around the same height as teen Naruto. Sasori is only 164.1 (~5 ft 4 1/2 in), and that's without squatting inside of Hiruko. Hidan is 177.1 cm (~5 ft 9 3/4 in).
Kakuzu is the second or third tallest of the group at 185 cm, which isn't bad for a 91-year-old. Konan is the tallest and only woman in the group at 169.4 cm (~5 ft 6 3/4 in). Tendo Pain, or rather Yahiko, was 176.5 cm while alive. Nagato is about 175.5 cm without the mechanical walker. Zetsu is 177 cm without the Venus flytrap. As an anime-only character, Juzo's height isn't listed, but he falls somewhere between Kakuzu and Kisame.
How Tall Are Naruto's Other Antagonists?
Mizuki, Naruto's first real opponent, was 179.4 cm (~5 ft 10 3/4 in). Haku was only 155.9 cm (~5 ft 1 1/2 in). Zabuza Momochi, on the other hand, was 183 cm (~6 ft). Sakon and Ukon shared a body of approximately 155.1 cm (~5 ft 1 in). Jirōbō was the tallest of the Sound Four at 181.3 cm 9~5 ft 11 1/2), while Kidomaru measured 159.2 cm (~5 ft 2 3/4). Tayuya was the shortest of the Four at 148.2 cm (~4 ft 10 1/2).
Kimimaro was 166.1 cm. Danzo Shimura measured 170 cm. Kabuto goes from 176.2 cm (~5 ft 9 1/2) to 177 cm between Parts I and II. Madara was 179 cm (~5 ft 10 1/2), making him much shorter than Hashirama. Kaguya's official height is never given, though model sheets suggest she was somewhere between 159.7 cm (~5 ft 3 in) and 175 cm before eating the Chakra Fruit.
How Tall Is Naruto's Killer Bee?
In the Hidden Cloud Village, Killer Bee is pretty tall at 192 cm (~6 ft 3 1/2), though still not as tall as A. Karui, Choji's wife, is 166 cm. Omoi goes from 170cm to 175cm. Samui is 168 cm. In the Hidden Leaf Village, Kushina was 165 cm. Iruka is 178 cm; in other words, Naruto surpassed him in strength and height. Anko measures around 167 cm.
How Tall Is Boruto and the Next Generation?
Since Boruto and his friends show up in the Naruto epilogue, here are some of their heights. Boruto, between the epilogue of The Last: Naruto the Movie and the ending of Naruto, grew from 110 cm to 122 cm (~3 ft 7 1/4 in-- 4 ft), and by Boruto: Naruto the Movie, he shot up to 145 cm (~4 ft 9 in). In the ongoing manga, Boruto measures 163 cm (~5 ft 4 1/4 in).
Himawari went from 93 cm to 102 cm (~3 ft 1/2 in-- 3 ft 4 1/4 in), and in the movie, she goes from 123.8 cm (4 ft 1/4 in) to 138 cm (~4 ft 6 1/2 in). Sarada is 125 cm (~4 ft 1 1/4 in) at the end of Naruto and 147 cm (~4 ft 10 in) in the Boruto movie. Shikadai is 154 cm (~5 ft 3/4 in). Chocho is 130 cm at the end of Naruto and 150.5 cm (~4 ft 11 3/4 in) in the movie. Inojin is 147 cm in Naruto Gaiden and 152.2 cm (~5 ft) in the manga. Metal Lee is 150 cm (~4 ft 11 in) in Naruto Gaiden.
