While there's a lot we don't know about Spider-Man 3 right now, there are a lot of theories about what might just happen in the film. One of the biggest questions surrounds just how some of the characters from the wider Spider-Man mythos will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in this we're going to explain just how the hero's upcoming third movie could bring in symbiotes.

The various MCU Spider-Man films have all lead back to Tony Stark/Iron Man, who served as Peter Parker's mentor prior to his death in Avengers: Endgame. As such, Tony might play a key role into bringing symbiotes into the MCU. It's entirely possible that, thanks to Tony's obsession with space, he may have greenlit some project that would have resulted in a symbiote being captured, which could itself lead to a new big bad for the MCU. Norman Osborn, for example, would have no problems with combining a person with a symbiote, which could itself lead to a sort of Sinister Six set-up.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could take going forward, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen.
