Gamma radiation in Marvel Comics is a fascinating thing, as it tends to affect different people in drastically different ways. The most famous person who was irradiated with Gamma Radiation was Bruce Banner, who transformed into the monstrous Incredible Hulk. However, while Banner transformed into a monster-like being, other people have had more beneficial transformations. Leonard Samson, for instance, transformed into an idealized version of his regular self (just with green hair, of course). The theory is that the specific transformation is tied to your psychology. In other words, if you believe that there's a monster inside of you, you'll transform into a monster.

However, there have been a few female Hulks where the transformations turned them gorgeous rather than grotesque. We'll count down the 15 hottest female Hulks. Since there aren't that many female Hulks, we'll include alternate reality versions of the Hulks (provided that the alternate reality version is significantly different, as otherwise, what's the point?). Who is the hottest Hulk of them all?

15 THE MISSTRO

She-Hulk: The Sensational #1 had a great story by Peter David and Jonboy Meyers that literally pointed out that it was "The She-Hulk Story that's a riff on A Christmas Carol," as She-Hulk is bemoaning getting older as all of her friends call to wish her a happy birthday. She's even pissed that the caption box mentioned her birthday, so she broke the fourth wall and threw it away, almost hitting Spider-Man, who was swinging by at the time. He told her she might need A Christmas Carol riff to make her feel better about her life.

So when she went to bed, she was visited by three ghosts, the Ghosts of her past, present and future. The Future She-Hulk showed her following her current bitter path and becoming a Maestro-like being called, of course, the Misstro. She still manages to pull off the eyepatch look.

14 THE "SAVAGE" SHE-HULK

When John Byrne launched Sensational She-Hulk in 1989, his twist on the character was that she would break the fourth wall and interact with not only the readers (and Byrne himself) but also the very nature of the comic itself (like she would break through panels, etc.). Byrne left the series for a while and then returned to finish out his run with Sensational She-Hulk #50. She-Hulk then decided on the new direction for her series.

Before the new creative team took over, however, there was a fill-in where She-Hulk went into an "unpublished" issue of her original series and teamed up with her original "Savage" self and her old self really didn't hold a candle to modern day She-Hulk. She was basically just the Hulk with long hair and breasts.

13 AGE OF ULTRON SHE-HULK

Age of Ultron was a fascinating twist on the idea of alternate future storylines. Here, rather than a possible future where Ultron has taken over the world, Ultron actually attacked the past directly from the future, so the present day was still the present day, it was just now a present in which Ultron had conquered the world in the past.

Thus, the superheroes of Earth were in really bad shape. They had gone through some terrible trials during the "age of Ultron" and you could see it in the look that She-Hulk was rocking when the story began. She was ragged-looking, with a short haircut and a look of a woman who was barely keeping things together. She ended up foiling a plan she worked up with Luke Cage where he would pretend to capture her. She just went at Ultron herself and was killed.

12 LYRA (THE SAVAGE SHE-HULK)

This is a tricky one. In the one-shot comic, Hulk: Raging Thunder, a future version of Thundra showed up in the present and needed to find a hero to procreate with to save her future race. She chose the Hulk and used a piece of his DNA to create a daughter in the future. That daughter, Lyra, then showed up in the present herself in her miniseries, All-New Savage She-Hulk. She, too, was here to procreate with a hero (although she chose Norman Osborn -- blech).

But here's the tricky part -- she then got a series she shared with Jennifer Walters called She-Hulks, and in it, Lyra was now at best 16 years old. It now made her earlier appearances super creepy (like when the Human Torch burned her clothes off and ogled at her naked body). So we're going to have her a bit low on the list.

11 GAMMAZON

In the world of What If...? comics, the story almost always ends after one issue. Sure, occasionally there are two-part stories, but that's a rarity. On certain occasions, though, the stories actually have a future beyond the original What If...? tale. The most famous example, of course, was the What If...? that asked what if Spider-Man's daughter had survived. That led to the Spider-Girl ongoing series.

However, another What If...? that had future stories was What If...the Vision had conquered the world?, from What If...? (Vol.2) #19. There were two versions of events -- one where things ended up great and one where they ended up poorly. The good version resulted in the Cosmic Avengers being formed, of which the Gammazon (a clone of She-Hulk named Jhen Walters) was a member. She was just as gorgeous as the woman she was cloned from. The Cosmic Avengers returned in the "TimeQuake" event.

10 ROGUE HULK

One of the coolest things for artists to play around with Rogue's powers is when she absorbs the powers of someone with a visually distinctive look, like Nightcrawler or Colossus. Seeing Rogue turn blue or turn into organic metal is a very cool look for her (in one epic story, she flew way up near the end of Earth's atmosphere in her Colossus form and fell back down to Earth as part of an attack).

During Avengers vs. X-Men, the Avengers were sent after the students at the Jean Grey School and Rogue and her students faced off against the Avengers and Rogue ended up absorbing She-Hulk's powers and becoming... Rogue Hulk! The "Hulk" look suited Rogue pretty well, as she looked hotter than she did when she was blue with elf ears when she absorbed Nightcrawler's powers!

9 SHULK

In the classic alternate future story, Future Imperfect, the Hulk of the present day was brought into the future to take down the Maestro, the super-powered brute who had conquered the world in the future. The Maestro, of course, was an older version of the Hulk, driven insane and given strength increases due to continued exposure to radiation. One person who wasn't featured in the storyline was the Hulk's cousin, She-Hulk.

That was changed in the miniseries, Abominations, which revealed that She-Hulk (now called just "Shulk") was put into suspended animation at one point after fighting against her cousin for years. When she awakens and learns that the Maestro is gone but that one of Maestro's concubines fled into the past while pregnant with the Maestro's baby, Shulk traveled to stop her. While older, Shulk had some of her earlier charms, but was just very weary overall.

8 SHE-HULK (THE ONE WHO SLEPT WITH JUGGERNAUT)

In a storyline in the pages of Uncanny X-Men, the now reformed Juggernaut has to stand trial for his crimes before he decided to become a good guy and She-Hulk agrees to defend him, as there are only two lawyers in the Marvel Universe, She-Hulk and Daredevil. You're bound to be represented by one of them. Despite it being a horrible breach of ethics, She-Hulk has sex with her client.

Years later, in Dan Slott's farewell She-Hulk story, he revealed that the Jennifer Walters who slept with Juggernaut was actually a visitor from another dimension who "vacationed" on the main Marvel Earth and took She-Hulk's place and did stuff she shouldn't have, like sleep with a client! It was wrong, but Ron Garney sure drew it sexy-like!

7 SKIRN, BREAKER OF MEN

In the Fear Itself crossover event, a group of hammers was unleashed upon Earth by the return of Cul the Serpent, the evil older brother of Odin who was freed from imprisonment and now wanted to raze both Asgard and Midgard (also known as Earth). Each of the hammers contained the souls of Cul's similarly evil children. When someone picked up the hammer, the souls of the children would possess whomever wielded the hammer (who were "Worthy").

Mostly supervillains picked up the hammers, but so did a couple of superheroes (Hulk and Thing, specifically). One of the hammers was picked up by Titania. That one was Skirn, breaker of men. In the Avengers Alliance video game, however, it was She-Hulk who picked up the hammer and was transformed into the bad girl, Skirn. She could break us any time!

6 SHE-HULK (HEROES REBORN UNIVERSE)

At the end of the Onslaught crossover event, the collected group of heroes (the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the X-Men) realized that Onslaught was an almost unstoppable being made out of pure psionic energy. The Hulk had managed to break through his armor, but now that energy was set to explode -- unless it could be absorbed. Mister Fantastic realized that non-mutants could absorb the energy.

So all of the non-mutants present sacrificed themselves to contain the energy and then the X-Men destroyed the resulting being. Franklin Richards then saved all of the heroes and put them on a new world. This led to new origins for the heroes, but oddly enough, they then encountered characters who hadn't been involved in Onslaught, like She-Hulk and Doc Samson! It didn't make much sense, but hey, Whilce Portacio sure drew a sexy She-Hulk!

5 ULTIMATE SHE-HULK

In the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Betty Ross was a public relations genius who dated Bruce Banner before he accidentally turned himself into the Hulk. After he was captured, she broke up with him. She then became the public relations manager for the Ultimates. While with the team, she began to date actor Freddy Prinze Jr. This enraged Banner so much that he turned into the Hulk to win Betty back, killing hundreds of people before the Ultimates stopped them. In a twisted way, Betty was turned on by Banner's devotion.

When he was ordered to be killed, she declared her love for him. It was seemingly too late, but when he showed up alive, she decided to join him to keep Nick Fury from killing him a second time (Fury sent Wolverine to do the job this time). She used an experimental serum to become the She-Hulk to help him.

4 RED SHE-HULK

After being married to the Hulk for years, it appeared that one day, all of the residual radiation that Betty Banner had soaked up had caught up to her and she abruptly died of radiation poisoning. As it turned out, though, she was actually poisoned by Emil Blonsky, the evil Abomination. Her father, Thunderbolt Ross, though, kept her cryogenically frozen in the hopes of curing her. He eventually managed to do so by cutting a deal with the Leader.

The Leader cured her by using gamma radiation to transform her into the Red She-Hulk. In her new form, she lacked any of the inhibitions she carried as Betty Ross Banner, which included her mode of dress. This was especially evident when Domino shot up her outfit and she responded by stealing Domino's much smaller clothes and putting them on, with her body practically popping out of the leather clothes.

3 WEAPON X'S HULK

The long-running comic book series Exiles was about a group of heroes (mostly X-Men related characters) from different realities who were tasked with "fixing" realities where things had went wrong (Quantum Leap-style). They worked for the Timebroker, a mysterious being who controlled their trips. Along the way, they met a rival team called Weapon X who also worked for the Timebroker but did more down and dirty stuff like killing kids to save reality.

The memberships of the two teams changed frequently (when a member died, they were replaced by a new hero). At one point, Weapon X had a female Hulk who worked for the mob. She was seemingly killed on a mission but turned up alive many issues later.

2 SHE-HULK (SPIDER-GWEN UNIVERSE)

In the pages of Spider-Gwen, everything is thrown out of whack. It is not simply a matter of the genders being reversed, like with Gwen Stacy becoming Spider-Woman instead of Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man, but rather that things exist however the book's creators, Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez, feel like having them be. So some characters are the same as they are in the regular Marvel Universe and others are waaaaay different.

One of the different ones is She-Hulk, who is a famous wrestler who is doing a fight for charity when Gwen had just become Spider-Woman and she tries to test herself against She-Hulk (if she loses, money gets donated to charity). Gwen is distracted by another situation, though, but luckily, the members of Gwen's rock group, the Mary Janes, "defeat" She-Hulk and win the money for charity! She-Hulk is truly a gorgeous lady of wrestling here.

1 SHE-HULK

The classic, accept no substitutes, Jennifer Walters, the sensational She-Hulk, is the clear number one choice for this list. After initially becoming just literally a female version of her famous cousin, the Hulk (after a blood transfusion from Bruce saved her life), Jennifer eventually learned to control herself in her She-Hulk form. At that point, she chose to permanently become the statuesque She-Hulk rather than her old, mousy self.

Over the years, her sexiness has become one of her defining qualities (she's been repeatedly featured in Marvel's swimsuit specials) and was a major part of John Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk series, where he had her constantly in a state of undress (while making fun of the concept as he did it -- like hiding her behind the Comics Code stamp). Adam Hughes, Mike Deodato, Joe Jusko -- if you're an artist who likes to draw the female form, She-Hulk has long been your muse.
