Guerilla Games' massive open-world adventure Horizon Forbidden West hasn't been out long, but fans have already discovered some uniquely PlayStation-centric Easter eggs hidden among the game's massive environments. Sony has shown in the past that it loves a bit of collaboration, especially between its first-party exclusives, and the newest discovery in the lauded sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is not one to break this trend.

Hidden within the gigantic map are three secret tributes to another Sony giant, 2018's massive hit God of War, and by finding these items, players can even unlock a unique prize. However, these secret items, dubbed War Totems, are not easily found, as they don't appear on the map like other collectables do. Players will likely have to seek out these secrets rather than coming across them naturally. Here is how to find the Totem of Youth, Totem of War and Totem of Brotherhood, as well as what they'll gain from doing so.

Where to Find the Totem of Youth

Players will want to collect the Totem of Youth first, as it is the easiest to acquire. This hidden item can be found on the extreme western edge of Forbidden West's map near the northwestern island called the Isle of Spires. The totem, which is a small wooden object painted and carved to look like Atreus, can be found on a platform above an abandoned school bus. Players will simply need to grapple up to the platform, and it will be waiting to be collected.

Where to Find the Totem of War

The Totem of War can be found in the snowy tundra of the northwest, a fitting place given the Norse adventure of the last God of War game. Located north of Cliffwatch and east of the Greenhouse location, this area holds a singular tree where players can find a weapon resembling Kratos' own Leviathan Axe buried deep within it.

From there some tracks can be found using Aloy's focus. Following these tracks will lead players to a recreation of the tiny cabin Kratos and Atreus share at the beginning of God of War. The totem, which is modeled after the legendary warrior himself, can be found outside the cabin near some wooden barrels.

Where to Find the Totem of Brotherhood

The last item, the Totem of Brotherhood, is modeled after fan-favorite God of War (2018) characters Brock and Sindri, two bickering Dwarven blacksmiths who aid Kratos in his adventure. The pair of brothers can be found in the area known as Jagged Deep, southwest of No Man's Land. In this area, players can find a destroyed Widemaw, with a blacksmith's hammer buried in its skull. Another set of tracks will lead Aloy to a small cluster of rocks that holds the totem.

What Do Players Get for Finding All Three God of War Totems?

After finding the third totem, players can claim their reward: a unique facepaint that allows Aloy to mark herself with the same ashes and red swath of paint that has come to define the gruff visage of Kratos. To unlock the Mark of War, players can travel to any facepaint merchant and purchase them for a measly 10 scrap, a pittance for evoking the fury of one of gaming's most powerful protagonists. Aloy is already a fierce warrior, but now players can go into battle looking just a little bit more intimidating by donning this excellent cosmetic and harnessing the rage of a god.

Horizon Forbidden West is a massive adventure that will keep players occupied for dozens of hours, and this brilliant Easter egg serves as a great nod to another wonderful adventure in God of War and gives players yet another enjoyable detour in Aloy's quest to save the world. With this latest crossover, players can channel Kratos while battling massive machines, hunting animals and enjoying a game of Machine Strike.
