Guerilla Games has done something wonderful for their fan community. Anyone looking to cosplay Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West now has a complete and detailed guide to help. Offering full breakdowns for two different appearances, Guerilla Games hopes to eliminate cosplayer's dull hours spent analyzing any picture or video they can find to piece together the correct look. The guides are also super helpful for artists looking for a one-stop shop for Aloy references. These directions will indeed make life much easier for those looking to don or recreate Aloy's appearance; here's where to find the guides and how to use them.

Aloy is the main protagonist and star of Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West. Beginning her life as an outcast of the Nora tribe, Aloy would eventually go on to become a Seeker of the tribe, setting her off on her adventures. Throughout the first title, Aloy wears her Nora Huntress armor but will be changing her look in the sequel. The Utaru Harvester armor has an entirely different appearance, but it suits the protagonist just the same. Guerilla Games' guides cover both options.

Where To Find Horizon Zero Dawn's Cosplay Guides

Horizon Forbidden West Utaru Harvester Cosplay Guide

Guerilla Games initially made a post about adding the guides on their website, but both guides ultimately reside on Horizon's community page on PlayStation's website. The guides can be a little tricky to find on their own, so here are some direct links to the Nora Huntress and Utaru Harvester guides.

At a glance, the differences between the two armors are similar to the differences in environment players will experience going from Horizon Zero Dawn to its sequel. Though the original game took place in Utah and some surrounding states over 1000 years after humanity's initial extinction, the game's setting was rugged and mountainous. The accompanying Nora Huntress armor complimented the setting, accented with fur and incorporated elements reminiscent of traditional Native American attire. Horizon Forbidden West's locales are much more colorful and alive. Beautiful shores have been shown against vibrant expanses of green forest, and even deserts too. To that end, Aloy's Utaru Harvester armor is more colorful and woven from reeds and the other harvestable flora in the area.

How To Use Guerilla Games' Guides

Horizon Forbidden West Cosplay Guide Necklace

Each cosplay guide breaks down every piece of Aloy's attire and explains what it is, and in many cases, even what it's made from. While there aren't step-by-step instructions for fans to create their own props, the detailed images and breakdowns will give those interested a pretty good idea of how to get started. For artists looking to draw Aloy, each section of the guide features multiple perspectives for each piece of attire and includes a section dedicated to Aloy's face and hair.

The third page of each Guerilla Games' cosplay guide shows an overview of Aloy's armor with front and rear views. This page features little arrows that identify each element from Aloy's appearance and serve as links to those specific pages in the guide. This feature is great for those moving back and forth between different parts of Aloy's appearance and will help those trying to find information about one specific element. Using the guides are a breeze, and they can even be saved as interactable PDFs.

Guerilla Games did an excellent thing for their fans when they put together these guides for Aloy's appearances. Not only are there plenty of cosplayers who'll be able to get use out of these guides, but also artists too. The guides offer an easy and intuitive way for fans to reference Aloy and learn everything they need to know about her gear to try and use it themselves.
