'Homeland' Creator Lands Action-Comedy At NBC

Howard Gordon will be leaving the intense drama of Homeland for more comedic offerings with Human Resources.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the executive producer landed his half-hour, single-camera sitcom pilot at the network for a script-plus-penalty deal.

That Awkward Moment writer Tom Gormican is penning the pilot, which "follows an unlikely group of heroes who come together to save their co-workers, their jobs and, ultimately, themselves."

Gordon has a long and storied TV history going back to Beauty and the Beast with stints on X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and 24.
