Talk show host Conan O'Brien ended his run on the TBS show, Conan, on Jun. 24, but not before he got the chance to sit down and have his exit interview with the one and only Homer Simpson.

In an animated segment, O'Brien appeared as a character from The Simpsons on an animated set as he was approached by Homer to conduct his exit interview. Learning that O'Brien was "a big star on TBS," Homer hilariously mistook him for one of TruTV's Impractical Jokers. After a few comments about Conan interviewees' "mildly interesting anecdotes" and O'Brien's overwhelming Irish appearance, O'Brien confided in Homer that he secretly wears a toupee and the two bonded over their shared baldness.

Cutting back to O'Brien in live-action, he shared, "That meant the world to me that [the Simpsons team] went to all that trouble," before joking, "I know that The Simpsons is a show that hasn't even broken through, but I want to give them a little leg up so check this show out." O'Brien started his career as a writer on The Simpsons, writing the three episodes "New Kid on the Block", "Marge vs. the Monorail" and "Homer Goes to College," as well as writing Bart's wraparounds in "Treehouse of Horror IV." Homer referenced that one time "[he] was even a monorail conductor" as "a stupid idea" in a nod to O'Brien's writing credit during his exit interview.

Conan ended its over decade-long run with actor Jack Black being the show's final guest. The talk show sported a live studio audience for its final two weeks following a year of no audience members during the COVID-19 pandemic. The talk show premiered on TBS in 2010 following O'Brien's ousting from NBC's The Tonight Show following an infamous battle over the show's timeslot between O'Brien and former Tonight Show host Jay Leno. Between being the host of Late NightThe Tonight Show and Conan, O'Brien holds the record for the longest-running late-night talk show host with his run lasting almost 28 years, surpassing that of former Late Night host David Letterman.

TBS' HR representative Homer Simpson holds his own share of records with The Simpsons being the longest-running American animated series, longest-running American sitcom and longest-running American scripted primetime series. After being acquired by Disney following its buyout of 20th Century Fox, Homer's daughter Maggie Simpson starred in a Star Wars short on Disney+ called "The Force Awakens From Its Nap" to celebrate 2021's Star Wars Day.
