This summer's Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw may be a testosterone-fueled romp that pits Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham against Idris Elba, but the upcoming spinoff actually had to tone down its content to earn the Motion Picture Association of America's approval.

In a post on his Instagram, Johnson shared a brief behind-the-scenes video of his character bludgeoning a masked opponent in his native Samoa. His caption revealed the MPAA made the production remove a gorey scene to secure the necessary rating for a theatrical release. According to Johnson, the scene had Luke Hobbs bite out his opponent's eye and spit it out into the dirt.

Understandably, the theatrical ratings board found the planned scene too violent. Now, Hobbs will slam the bad guy into the ground before beating him senseless instead.

Johnson then addressed the traditional fabric outfit he and his fellow Samoans, including Roman Reigns as his brother, wear. They signify that they are tapping into their warrior spirit to unleash hell on their enemies. Judging by the video, even with the planned scene removed, Hobbs will still be hitting his foes with full force.

Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script by longtime Fast & Furious narrative architect Chris Morgan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby. The film arrives on August 2.
