Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has done something no other movie in 2019 has been able to do: Hold the number one spot at the worldwide box office on four weekends.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's top films of 2019, including Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, only stayed in that number one spot for three weekends. However, as Variety reports, Hobbs & Shaw will earn approximately $39 million this weekend internationally to take the top spot again.
Hobbs & Shaw has performed particularly well in China, where it's earned $166 million since its release, including $27.9 million this weekend. Overall, the international take for Hobbs & Shaw sits at $525 million with a $684 million worldwide take.
Domestically, Hobbs & Shaw is estimated to take in approximately $8.05 million over the four-day Labor Day weekend.
In comparison to the last two Fast & Furious franchise films, which both broke $1 billion, Hobbs & Shaw sits at fourth overall for the franchise, just a little over $100 million away from passing Fast & Furious 6.
Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script by longtime Fast & Furious veteran Chris Morgan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby and is out now.
