WARNING: The following contains mild spoilers for Avengers #37 by Jason Aaron, Javier Garrón, Jason Keith and VC's Cory Petit, on sale now.

In the pages of Avengers #37, Earth's Mightiest Heroes have finally put an end to the threat of Khonshu. Moon Knight's moon god recently remade the Earth in his image and amassed as much power as he could in a twisted attempt to prepare for a battle with Mephisto. The Avengers defeated the deity, and they have swiftly put an end to "The Age of Khonshu." However, another villainous god will soon be coming, Knull, the dark god of the symbiotes in the upcoming King in Black event.

According to History of the Marvel Universe #6, the Avengers' own Tony Stark, aka Iron Man and the X-Men's Emma Frost might be heading down the aisle for the biggest, most confusing wedding ever.

On Twitter, user Joe Parsons recently shared a double-page spread from Dec. 2019's History of the Marvel Universe #6 by Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez that teased all sorts of stories that would be coming in the next few years. This look at the future offered multiple hints at storylines that unfolded in 2020: "The Age of Khonshu," which just concluded in Avengers; the rise of the Kree/Skrull Alliance and their leader Hulkling in Empyre; the events of Outlawed; and even the upcoming King in Black.

But the timeline of future events doesn't stop there: after King in Black, History of the Marvel Universe #6 promises that the wedding of Tony Stark and Emma Frost is coming next.

For the time being, the reliability of History of the Marvel Universe is up in the air. The only thing that is known for certain, for the time being, is that everything that it predicted has come to pass, more or less in that exact order. With Marvel stories planned years in advance, it's therefore likely that all of this was plotted a while ago and that the wedding will really happen, sooner or later.

Interestingly enough, Tony Stark and Emma Frost are the last two people ever expected to get married, let alone to each other. They have some of the biggest egos in all of the Marvel Universe, and they seem to be the perfect example of a mismatch. But if it has already made the future history books, then it might be an important milestone, which indicates that this union may not be one born out of love.

With everything that is currently going on in the X-Men books, with the mutants now a powerful nation established on the island of Krakoa, it's possible that the nuptials of Iron Man and the White Queen could be more of a business arrangement. After all, Emma Frost is at the head of the Hellfire Trading Company, an important and powerful company with connections all over the world. Since Tony Stark is also one of the richest and most powerful men in the world, this could be a move to consolidate power, or perhaps keep a close eye on the X-Men from the inside.

Or perhaps the couple will really fall for one another -- but that still seems unlikely. Tony Stark and Emma Frost are two of the biggest names in the Marvel Universe, so throwing their names together with the promise of a wedding is no accident. It's likely this isn't an empty tease. Chances are, 2021 will cordially invite us to a big superhero wedding. But things won't necessarily be as they seem.
