His Dark Materials' main protagonist, Lyra Belacqua, the focus of a new trailer for the HBO/BBC television series. The trailer teases the journey Lyra will make as she uncovers the secrets of a powerful organization that is stealing children.

The trailer also offers a brief glimpse at some of the characters we can expect to see series, including the talking armored polar bear Iorek Byrnison.

Lyra is played by Dafne Keen, who is well-known for her role as Laura Kinney/X-23 in 2017's Logan. The young actress has also appeared in played the role of Ana in the popular BBC Worldwide and Atresmedia series, The Refugees.

His Dark Materials is based off the beloved fantasy book series of the same name by Philip Pullman. The series features the novels, Northern Lights (The Golden Compass), The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass.

His Dark Materials is directed by Tom Hooper and stars Dafne Keen as Lyra, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby. It doesn't currently have a release date, but rumors suggest it will premiere sometime in 2019. There have also been reports that the series has already been renewed for a second season.
