Hillary and Chelsea Clinton may be preparing to transition from politics to a career in the entertainment industry.

The mother-daughter duo are in early talks to create their own film and television production company and are looking into viable options for an entertainment venture. While a representative for the Clintons declined to comment, the proposed production company will reportedly focus on creating stories about women.

Hillary Clinton served as First Lady from 1993 to 2001 before being elected as the Senator of New York in 2000, a position she held until 2009. After serving as the Secretary of State during President Barack Obama's first term, Clinton launched her own unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2016. Since then, the former Senator has signed on to executive produce a television adaptation of The Woman's Hour with Steven Spielberg, her first major venture into television.

In addition to her work with the Clinton Foundation, Chelsea Clinton is a successful children's book author and major advocate for global health after her own professional career in private consulting. As a board member on the Clinton Foundation, Chelsea Clinton speaks at conferences and special events around the world promoting global health, increased opportunities for women and economic growth strategies.

The proposed venture marks the second major transition of a politician into the entertainment industry following Barack and Michelle Obama. The Obamas founded Higher Ground -- their own production company -- in association with Netflix to create multiple different film and television projects for the premium streaming service.
