Yep, we have a full-on console war brewing! With the announcement of the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, gamers far and wide have come out of their hibernation and straight to their keyboards to defend their favorite brand. So let's see what sort of things the PS5 fans have been flinging Xbox aficionados.
10 Xfridge
Of course, one of the first things they decided to pick on was what it looks like. It's no small secret that the Xbox Series X literally looks like a box this time around and because of it, there is no shortage of people that compare it to other square things and the memes aren't easy to miss. For better and for worse...
This time around they poked fun at its resemblance to a refrigerator. The rather basic design and full black exterior fitting well somewhere in the kitchen. Though it would be pretty impressive if it stayed as cool as one even during the roughest of gaming sessions.
9 Trashbox
This is part of the "for worse..." part of the spectrum. Leaving little to no room for friendly rivalry, PlayStation fans hit hard and hit fast with this meme (and memes in general). Not only making a hasty comparison about what the Series X looks like but also making it clear what they think of it.
Less "into the trash it goes" and more "trash is what you are." There is definitely no love lost between the person that created this meme and the Xbox.
8 Xtable
The Xbox Series X was already compared to a trashcan but somehow this is still worse. No better than to be the thing that holds up the PlayStation 5, a memester imagines the Series X as nothing more than an (admittingly charming) table.
To be honest, the concept works well as a sort of minimalistic design. Though, whether someone would be willing to turn a five hundred dollar system into a table to one-up Xbox fans is probably only reserved for the biggest of haters.
7 Xbox Series SS (Speaker System)
The Xbox Series X's little brother also has gotten into the mix. While the Series S has gotten its own fair share of comparisons by the meme-ing community, this is one of the few that takes both systems and combines them into something different.

6 Bringing The Heat
Despite the PlaySupporters being out in full force to defend and throw shade for their favorite system, don't forget that the Xbros have their own hype crew. Case and point, this little meme that has been making the rounds among the Xbox's circles featuring Phil Spencer.
Packing a different type of heat than what some people have been reporting, this meme turns the Series X into something a player would see after getting a killstreak in Call of Duty. Can the PlayStation 5 measure up?

Wrestling memes can make anything better. Even when they jump over the turnbuckle into another fandom entirely. Taking a page out of Mankind's proudest moment, a memester pokes fun at how big consoles are getting.
Rumor has it that the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5 are pretty big boys. Though, if they are big enough to have Undertaker throw Mankind off of is still up for debate.
4 Xbuilding
Of course, there is big and there is huge! The excellent "journalist" at The Onion doing what they do best and taking things one step further by blowing up the Series X into gigantic proportions. Fitting it right between a few buildings.
While the Series X may never get to be that big, it would make for a pretty neat concept for a building at Microsoft headquarters.
3 Parents At Christmas
The Xbox brand has a problem with consistency. Xbox instead of going to Xbox 2, went for Xbox 360. Next, it would follow to go for something like Xbox 720 or some other rotation, but instead, they decided to go back to Xbox One. They later added an X and an S to distinguish their higher and lower-end models. They now reused that same system for their new consoles and that led to this problem.
The fact that the Xbox One X and S had a spike in sales when the Xbox Series X and S went on sale means that there are going to be a lot of horrified kids at the Christmas tree this holiday season.
2 PS5 Controller Design Inspiration
Once someone sees it they will never unsee it. Of course, despite all of the flack that PlayStation fans are willing to throw the Xbox's way, the Xbox fanboys are willing to throw some right back. Even if it means scarring the eyes of all those that see it.
To put it simply, the PlayStation 5 controller looks like an Xbox controller if it wore a tank top. Now never see it the same again.

Last but not least, here is an image that was floating around once PlayStation 5 finally showed off its system and price. The fanboys not satisfied with burying the Xbox under a series of memes, but also craving to put it six feet under in the process.
