The CW's thriving superhero universe began with Arrow back in 2012. Even though Arrow has ended, the legacy left by the show has inspired other shows to continue and tell their own superhero stories. From epic team-ups to giant crossovers, the Arrowverse has become a massive fictional world of interconnected superhero shows.

After Ruby Rose stepped away from the role of Batwoman, Javicia Leslie took up the mantle of the hero as the new character of Ryan Wilder. The sophomore season sees Batwoman facing off against several foes, including Victor Zsasz, Safiyah, and the main villain, Black Mask.

While most of Gotham City believed that Ruby Rose's Kate Kane died in a plane crash, it is revealed that Kane was severely injured, but survived the crash and returned in the form of a different actress, Wallis Day.

8 Black Lightning Season 1 Gave The Show A Solid Beginning - 7.3 Average

Premiering in 2018, season 1 of Black Lightning showed how Jefferson Pierce went from a retired vigilante to a full-fledged superhero. By day, Jefferson worked as the principal of Garfield High School. When not going up against the threat of Tobias Whale, Jefferson spent his time as a superhero helping to train his daughters, Jennifer, and Anissa, with their newly discovered superpowers.

While the show existed on its own during its first few seasons, Jefferson finally teamed up with the heroes of the Arrowverse during the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover.

7 Supergirl Season 1 Originally Aired On CBS - 7.7 Average

Before moving to the CW for its subsequent seasons, Supergirl began its run on CBS. Season 1 told the origin story of how Kara Zor-El became Kara Danvers after landing on earth, and then how she became the Girl of Steel, protector of National City.

Kara's Kryptonian Uncle Non acted as the main villain of the season, until he was defeated by Supergirl in the season finale. While remaining mostly separate from the Arrowverse as a whole, Barry Allen does make an appearance towards the end of the season.

6 Constantine Season 1 Was The Only Season Of The Show - 8.2 Average

Originally airing on NBC, Constantine marked the beginning of Matt Ryan's journey as the magical detective. The short-lived series consisted of just 13 episodes but gathered quite a fan following. John Constantine took on several mystical threats throughout the season, including Felix Faust and Papa Midnite.

Even though his show was met with an untimely cancellation, Constantine has been able to appear in multiple Arrowverse shows, including a guest spot during a season 4 episode of Arrow and as a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow.

5 Stargirl Season 1 Introduced The JSA Of Earth-2 - 8.2 Average

Originally made for the DC Universe streaming service, Stargirl season 1 aired simultaneously on the CW. Before the series aired, Stargirl and the JSA made a cameo appearance during the Arrowverse crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths".

Made up of just 13 episodes, season 1 was able to tell a concise story about the formation of the new Justice Society of America, with Courtney Whitmore AKA Stargirl as its new leader. The team went up against and eventually thwarted the villainous plans of the ISA, the Injustice Society of America.

4 Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Found A Balance Between Drama And Comedy - 8.3 Average

While many fans accuse the first season of being too serious, and later seasons of being too comical, season 2 seems to find the perfect blend of the 2. It sees the heroes on the Waverider attempting to collect the pieces of the Spear of Destiny, a tool that could rewrite history.

Also after the Spear of Destiny is the Legion of Doom, made up of the Reverse-Flash, Malcolm Merlyn, Damien Darhk, and Leonard Snart. The Legends eventually defeat the Legion of Doom and save the future from being destroyed.

3 Superman & Lois Season 1 Has Gotten Off To A Strong Start - 8.5 Average

While the Man of Steel's show has yet to complete its first season, Superman & Lois has been met with a mostly positive reception. Tyler Hoechlin's Superman first showed up in the Supergirl season 2 premiere and has since made appearances in a few of the Arrowverse crossovers, including "Elseworlds" and "Crisis on Infinite Earths".

The series is set in Smallville and focuses on how Superman balances being a father, husband, and superhero. With a second season already confirmed, fans of the show have more adventures of Superman & Lois to look forward to.

2 The Flash Season 1 Gave Barry Allen A Well Crafted Origin Story - 8.7 Average

After being introduced in season 2 of Arrow, Barry Allen received his own show about the adventures of the fastest man alive. Season 1 revealed how Barry became the Flash and how he turned into the hero of Central City.

Barry soon developed a rivalry with the villainous Eobard Thawne AKA Reverse-Flash, the villain of the season who was disguised as Barry's mentor, Dr. Harrison Wells. The season ended with the Reverse-Flash being temporarily erased from existence when Eddie Thawne, Eobard's ancestor, shot himself in the heart.

1 Arrow Season 2 Is The Best Season In The Arrowverse - 8.8 Average

Before time travel, aliens, magic, or Metahumans were introduced in the Arrowverse, Oliver Queen was the first hero to take on the many threats in this world. After a strong first season, season 2 of Arrow proved to be even better. Oliver's former mentor Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke served as the season's main villain, who is fixed on exacting revenge on Oliver for letting Shado die.

Also introducing Barry Allen in the Arrowverse, season 2 of Arrow tells a unique story and is one of the best seasons of superhero television.
