Some genres that are used often in anime are isekai, harem, slice of life, shonen, shojo, and so on. Even high school can be its own anime genre since there are so many series that focus on high school. The question is: which is the right one for you? Here is a list of high school anime to watch based on your personality type.

10 Kuroko's Basketball - INTJ

This is a high school, sport anime about a boy named Kuroko. Kuroko isn't very tall or good at shooting, but once joins the Seirin High basketball team and meets Kagami, he uses his passing skills to get the team to the top. INTJs are strategic, logical and reserved much like Kuroko. INTJs, known as the "Masterminds," like to work from the shadows. In Kuroko's Basketball, Kuroko may not stand out, but it is because of his skills and endlessly determination to grow that the rest of the team becomes stronger.

9 Kakegurui - ESTP

In this high school, the strong and the weak are separated by gambling. Different types of games are set up for students to gamble. Those who win live lavishly while those who lose have to suffer in debt. Yumeko Jabami is a cheerful girl who also happens to be a compulsive gambler.

ESTPs, also known as "Promoters," are outgoing, curious and spontaneous much like Yumeko. ESTPs are attracted to activities that involve risks and thrills. They enjoy beating the competition making Kakegurui an ideal show for people of this type.

8 Assassination Classroom - ENFJ

If you are in a class where the assignment is to assassinate your teacher, then you are in Assassination Classroom. Koro-sensei is believed to be an alien who threatened to destroy the whole world unless his students he wanted to teach kill him. ENFJs are "Teachers," does anything else need to be said? ENFJs have a charisma that enables them to draw people in which allow them to nurture and instruct others. This show is all about teaching the students and helping them become better and stronger which is something ENFJs can relate to.

7 Haikyu!! - INFP

Another high school, sports anime, but this time it is volleyball. Hinata and Kageyama didn't get along when they first met during a volleyball match, but now that they are at the same high school they have to work together to beat even stronger opponents. INFPs are the "Healers." It may not be healing physically, but Haikyu!! definitely can make people feel better on an emotional level. A show that is all about personal growth and focusing on one's dreams, it is no wonder that INFPs can get behind this one.

6 Another - ISTP

Another is a mystery anime that takes place in a school where a curse is in effect killing students in the most gruesome ways. In the past, a tragedy took place where a popular student suddenly died. In the present day, that tragedy still haunts the school putting everyone in danger if it is not stopped.

ISTPs or "Crafters" will like this one because due to Mei Misaki, a strange girl that the main character, Koichi, meets after transferring schools. Much like Mei, ISTPs can be difficult to understand and often need their personal space. Mei can be described as being thick-skinned and not the best at communicating much like ISTPs.

5 Prison School - ENTJ

After being caught peeking at their new school, five boys are thrown into a prison-like detention center at their school. This is a comedy anime that takes place all within a high school. The reason why "Field Marshals" or ENTJs would like this one is because during their punishment the boys are disciplined by their beautiful female students that make up the Underground Student Council. ENTJs have a natural tendency to arrange and direct. ENTJs are decisive and see and do what needs to be done. The girls show this multiple times as they plot to get the boys kicked out. Even the boys show to be decisive when they come up with a strategic way to fight back. ENTJs often think big when working on projects and this anime also has something that is "larger than life."

4 Angel Beats! - ISTJ

These characters may be trapped in limbo, but the environment they are in resembles the same look of a high school. This story takes place in the afterlife and focuses on Otonashi, a boy who joins the Afterlife Battlefront, an organization that fights against a girl known as Angel with supernatural powers. ISTJs are known as "Inspectors." ISTJs are the type that do what needs to be done. They are realistic, analytical and want just the facts. ISTJs and Angel Beats! seem like a strange combination at first. However, the anime there are many occasions where characters find the supernatural situation they are in to be illogical and comprehension. Angel Beats! is a story about making sense of the afterlife. Whether or not God exists doesn't really matter, what matters is how each individual chooses to see their predicament and what they will do in order to move forward.

3 High School DxD - ESTJ

This anime is about a high school boy named Issei who is killed by a fallen angel, but is later revived and brought under the service of a devil named Rias Gremory. Rias Gremory as a high ranking devil takes people under her service to be apart of her team. ESTJs are known as "Supervisors" and very similar to Rias.

Throughout the story, Rias recruits more and more people to be apart of her crew and directs them during missions. ESTJs like to organize and mobilize people. They like to run the show and get things done. ESTJs, much like Rias, gather like-minded companions to join their activities or clubs.

2 Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-kun - ISFJ

After being sold off by his neglectful parents, Iruma is brought to the underworld where a demon named Sullivan adopts him as his grandson. From then, Iruma is forced to attend a school for demons. A big reason why Iruma found himself in this situation and other crazy situations to come is because he can't say no when people ask him for help. Much like ISFJ, Iruma likes to be helpful and useful to others. This is why ISFJs are known as "Protectors." They are devoted caretakers bent on helping others. They are a "need to be needed."

1 My Hero Academia - ESFP

A story all about students learning to be heroes. The series is playful, enthusiastic and friendly which is perfect for ESFPs. ESFPs are the "Performers" and in this show all the high school students are learning to perform like expert pro heroes. Midoriya, the main character, doesn't just help people in the show, but enjoys doing it. My Hero Academia is a show that is brought of life much like ESFP. There are so many lovable characters in the show which is good for ESFPs because they like to talk to people about people. ESFPs love people, excitement and having fun and that exactly what this show is about.
