“Recently, I've been revising the plan and script, and experimenting with everything else,” Kojima wrote. What purpose these elements will serve goes unsaid, and details over Kojima’s experimentations are similarly vague. With Kojima Productions’ recent expansion into television, film and music there’s also a chance that this project might not even be a game.

There are also suspicions that the man standing on the red stool may be Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. Kojima previously revealed that he had met with Mikkelsen and offered him the role of the main character for a project tentatively titled Mads Max. Kojima did not share specific details on the idea, noting that Mikkelsen thought the director was joking.

The cryptic message isn’t out of character for Kojima who is regarded as an auteur with a penchant for leaving hints and mysterious teasers for fans to discover. Despite the tweet’s obscure and enigmatic nature, it hasn’t stopped fans from analyzing every pixel on the screen in eager anticipation of what the director has in store. Kojima has yet to confirm or deny any speculations.
