He's Back: 'Terminator: Genisys' Unveils Motion Poster

Ahead of the Thursday premiere of the teaser trailer for Terminator: Genisys, Paramount Pictures has released a pretty solid -- not to mention creepy -- motion poster for the franchise reboot.

Directed by Alan Taylor, the $170 million film is billed as a remix of the 1984 original, with resistance leader John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes‘ Jason Clarke) sending loyal soldier Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) from the post-apocalyptic future back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother Sarah (Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke) from a Terminator programmed to kill her.

Of course the big twist is that here Sarah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9 and raised by an older T-800 she calls "Pops" (original franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Envisioned as the first film in a trilogy, Terminator Genisys also stars Matt Smith. It arrives July 1.
