WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Heroes Reborn #4, by Jason Aaron, James Stokoe Ed McGuinness, Mark Morales, Matthew Wilson and VC's Cory Petit, on sale now.

The Squadron Supreme of America has wasted no time in the rewritten reality of Heroes Reborn in disposing of any heroes and villains from the old world that opposed their rule. From exiling defeated enemies to the Negative Zone to brutally killing Galactus, the team of government sanctioned superheroes have no problem in employing lethal force to safeguard their jingoistic vision of America. And with the country secured, the Squadron has set its sights beyond America's borders, with Doctor Spectrum leading the charge deep into the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe.

Wielding the Power Prism, Spectrum imprisons anyone that doesn't conform completely to his narrow, nationalistic ideals in the head of a Celestial he personally killed, awaiting execution. Among Spectrum's current set of prisoners are the Inhumans, Beta Ray Bill and the Super-Skrull. Here are all the familiar faces that crossed paths with Doctor Spectrum that endured an especially vicious defeat at his hands.

Thanos

Thanos remains just as obsessed with gaining omnipotence as ever in the Heroes Reborn reality, with a slight twist in this brave, new world: No longer collecting the Infinity Gems into a gauntlet to wield their combined power, Thanos now has them each fitted into a set of rings as he channels their power against Spectrum.

Even with the Infinity Rings, however, the Mad Titan proves to be no match for Spectrum, who uses a cosmic gun to blow apart Thanos' hand wearing the rings. While Thanos presumably remains alive for now, Spectrum observes he has since been placed into custody in the decapitated Celestial head of Knowhere.

Ego the Living Planet

Ego the Living Planet boasts about himself

As a being that's been sentient and aware of his surroundings for eons, Ego the Living Planet appears to be at least partially aware that universe he has long known has since been altered. After Spectrum learns a mysterious armada from Earth is scouring the cosmos without the government or Squadron Supreme's authority, he cosmic despot decides to gruesomely interrogate Ego to learn more about them.

Holding Ego above a black hole, with the singularity steadily eroding pieces of the Living Planet, Spectrum learns that the fleet is of Wakandan origin. Convinced that Wakanda no longer exists in this new reality to erase the legacy of Black Panther, a frustrated Spectrum plunges Ego into the black hole, likely killing him.

Rocket Raccoon

The most viciously killed opponent to Doctor Spectrum's cosmic mission is Rocket Raccoon, teamed up only with Groot instead of the rest of the usual Guardians of the Galaxy. Visibly more worse for the wear in this reality, missing an eye and his right arm, Rocket is now armed with a portion of Groot in his massive gun and possesses the power of Starbrand as he accepts a contract from an intergalactic coalition to kill Spectrum.

This cosmic upgrade, unfortunately, fails to match Spectrum's own incredible array of powers and abilities. In a fierce showdown, Spectrum annihilates a fleet of Groots attacking him and draws power from a universe filled with cancer to infect Rocket. With Rocket incapacitated, Spectrum interrogates him to learn who exactly hired him for the assassination job, shoving his face into a supernova to get him to talk. And while Rocket dies, a portion of Groot survives to take care of the true Starbrand on the other side of the cosmos, away from Spectrum's attention.
