WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for "The World of No Return" by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Dean White, and VC's Cory Petit, from Heroes Reborn #7, on sale now.

The world of Heroes Reborn has seen the Marvel Universe twisted in some truly shocking ways by the absence of the Avengers from its timeline. While the Squadron Supreme have taken up the Avengers' place as Earth's Mightiest Heroes in this reality, that doesn't mean their predecessors are gone completely. Blade was the first of them to remember the world as it once was, and he has slowly assembled the few Avengers left in a bid to set things right. Of course, none of this bodes well for the Squadron Supreme, whose investigation into this mysterious new group of heroes has just led them to the edge of Wakanda for the confrontation that all of this has been building toward.

Power Princess was the last of the Squadron Supreme to realize something was wrong with her reality when she confronted Thor in Asgard. As far as the Squadron was concerned, there weren't supposed to be anymore Asgardians, and there certainly has never been anyone called the Avengers. While Doctor Spectrum is sure that there is nothing amiss, Hyperion and Zarda have been growing increasingly concerned, turning to Nighthawk for input as America's Greatest Detective. Nighthawk's immediate response is asking Hyperion to take him to the Arctic, where Hyperion found the remnants of a person pulled from the ice. Tensions mount as the Squadron Supreme literally digs deep in their investigation, from the energy signatures found in the Arctic and Earth's orbit to Ravencroft Asylum for a visit with the maniacal Green Goblin. Although the others don't understand where all of these pieces of the puzzle are leading them, Nighthawk knows exactly where to go. Leading the team to the open expanse of the African Savanna, he puts Blur to work undoing the security protocols surrounding a nation that no one even knew existed - Wakanda.

Much like the Avengers having never existed in this reality, Wakanda has been kept a secret from the rest of the world...up until now. As the veil is peeled back from the hidden nation, futuristic buildings adorning sprawling cities are revealed.

The Squadron Supreme are immediately on edge at the revelation that an entire country has been hidden from them for so long, with Zarda even suggesting a preemptive strike. Unfortunately for the Squadron, the Avengers already know that they have arrived, and they are ready for the fight to take their reality back from Mephisto.

The Squadron Supreme might be this reality's greatest heroes, but their investigative skills leave much to be desired. Finding Wakanda under any circumstance is impressive, but the fact that each of these heroes already knew that something was amiss with their reality and either chose not to believe it or ignored the most obvious clues they were given would be shameful if they weren't manifestations of Mephisto.

While they may have been two steps behind the Avengers at every turn, that doesn't mean they are going to be outmatched now that the respective teams have finally come face-to-face. The Phoenix and Starbrand are both undoubtedly some of the most powerful celestial forces in any Marvel Universe, but Heroes Reborn has done nothing if not demonstrate just how formidable - and lethal -  the Squadron Supreme can be.
