Oftentimes when superheroes quarrel, words simply won’t do. Such would appear to be the case in an art teaser revealed by the series’ writer, Tom King. The teaser, illustrated by Clay Mann, depicts Wonder Woman choking Batman with the Lasso of Truth. Understandably, the Dark Knight looks none too pleased about his predicament.RELATED: DC Reveals the Main Murder Suspects in Heroes in CrisisAccording to King’s tweet, the moment is set to take place during the upcoming Heroes in Crisis series, which revolves around mysterious murders at Sanctuary, the secret rehab center heroes visit when the violence and trauma of their vigilante roles becomes too much to bear. Last month, a solicitation for the debut issue revealed that the top suspects will be Harley Quinn and Booster Gold, but such matters of grave mystery are rarely solved with finger pointing.

Why Wonder Woman and Batman have come to blows is anyone’s guess, but some guesses do present themselves. The art tease suggests that Batman is seemingly doing his usual Batman thing (keeping critical information to himself when it would be best shared with the team), while Wonder Woman is doing her Wonder Woman thing (making people spill the beans with the help of her magical lasso). Otherwise, Wonder Woman has gone rogue and Batman was the closest person in the room. Either way, it’s not an enviable position for the Bat.
