Heroes in Crisis: Tom King Teases Blue Beetle & Booster Gold Reunion

One of the most iconic buddy teams in the DC Universe, the friendship of Booster Gold and the second Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, is nothing short of legendary among fans, but the two friends haven't been seen together in some time. However, writer Tom King has hinted that Heroes in Crisis will change that.

King posted an image on Twitter from artist Clay Mann and colorist Tomeu Morey featuring two very familiar gloved hands fist bumping. Ted's trademark vehicle, the Bug, hovers in the background. To contextualize the scene, King wrote, "Coming up in Heroes in Crisis." Naturally, fan response has been mostly positive.

The last time fans saw Ted, he was mentoring his successor, Jamie Reyes, in the most recent Blue Beetle series, with his past as the second Blue Beetle restored to continuity. This image seems to indicate that Ted will once again don his blue costume and help his best friend solve the murders at Sanctuary. However, King has not yet elaborated in which issue of the series this will occur, though it seems entirely possible it will be the upcoming fourth issue.
