The news that Marvel's Luke Cage would be canceled came as an unwelcome surprise to fans, especially as it's been just a week since it was reported that another of Marvel's Netflix shows, Iron Fist, would not return for a third season. Those familiar with the comics source material for both characters, though, were quick to note that this development freed both of them up to share a new Heroes for Hire series. While there has been no indication from either Netflix or Marvel Television that Heroes for Hire is a project up for consideration, that hasn't stopped fans from embracing the idea of it. In fact, one artist even created a poster for the Luke Cage/Iron Fist team-up.

The image features a door under a Heroes for Hire sign, with a note (pinned on by an arrow) requesting applicants with qualifications such as "glowing fist" and "bulletproof skin". It's surrounded by Easter eggs and callouts for various Marvel characters, such as a wanted poster for Moon Knight, slash marks that appear to have come from Wolverine's claws and even Deadpool's eyes peeking out from the mail slot.

While it may not help with the disappointment that fans are feeling over the loss of the two shows, there's at least ample evidence that interest in the characters is alive and widespread. Luke Cage and Danny Rand won't be forgotten any time soon.
