The role of James Bond remains one of the most iconic characters an actor can play. However, a Bond expert shared that an actor's rising fame likely disqualifies them from the role.

Editor of International Journal of James Bond Studies Dr. Ian Kinane recently said actor Henry Cavill likely won't be Bond as he's "too famous," as reported by Express.

Kinane cited Cavill's roles as Superman in the DC Extended Universe and his villainous turn in Mission: Impossible-Fallout as examples of films that set him on a path that will likely keep him busy and unable to commit to a franchise.

Kinane also ruled out other fan-favorite Bond picks, including Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) and Tom Hardy (Venom).

However, he did throw an unexpected name into the ring, actor Jamie Bell. "Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four) is a good choice because he performed in a movie called Film Stars Only Die in Liverpool which was produced by Barbara Broccoli," Kinane said. Broccoli worked on the Bond franchise since she was 17 years old and is currently producing 2021's No Time to Die.

"And Jamie Bell is at the right age that Daniel Craig was when he stepped into the role, so there's potential there." Richard Madden (Game of Thrones, The Eternals) was also listed as a potential choice, due to the actor's age and acting credentials.

Directed and co-written by Cary Fukunaga, No Time to Die stars Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek.
