Watch Cavill's full, qualifier-packed response below:

First, Cavill confirmed that if there is a Black Adam in the DCEU, it'll definitely be played by Johnson. He then pointed out that, accepting the premise of a Johnson-played-Black Adam, the initial confrontation would probably be against Shazam (who will be played by Zachary Levi), Black Adam's main nemesis: "I'm pretty sure it'll be a Shazam-Black Adam thing first. If it does happen, it would make sense that way."

Cavill did pose some alternate theories, though. "Maybe it'll be a Superman movie and Shazam will come and help," Cavill said. "That's kind of stealing his limelight though."

A Black Adam film is still in pre-production and is set to star Dwayne Johnson. Meanwhile, Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi, will premiere April 5, 2019.
