Superman actor Henry Cavill was coy concerning the status of a possible Man of Steel sequel.

Cavill was recently interviewed at GQ Magazine about his role as a more emotional Sherlock Holmes in the Netflix original film, Enola Holmes. During the interview, he was questioned about a rumor that he had signed a three-movie deal to reprise his Superman role in a pitched storyline. Instead of answering, Cavill attempted to shift the interview back to its original topic. "Well, I think it's important that this should be about Enola Holmes," he said. He then added with a smile, "I said what I said," when the reporter pointed out that his response was like saying "no comment" without denying the rumors.

Though Cavill refused to directly answer whether or not he would return as Superman in future DC films, fans will soon get to see his version of the Man of Steel in the highly anticipated Snyder Cut of Justice League, though he has not taken part in any reshoots. "They are doing their own thing out there, putting the movie together from the footage they shot," he confirmed. The cut will debut as a four-part mini-series on HBO Max in 2021 with Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Ciarán Hinds, Jesse Eisenberg and J.K. Simmons reprising their roles from the theatrical release.

Directed by Fleabag's Harry Bradbeer, Enola Holmes stars Millie Bobby Brown, Sam Claflin, Adeel Akhtar, Fiona Shaw, Frances de la Tour, Louis Partridge, Burn Gorman, Susan Wokoma, with Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter. The film is now available on Netflix.
