Several weeks ago, when the Justice League fandom celebrated the two-year anniversary of the film's release, fans and DCEU stars alike expressed their support for Zack Snyder's purportedly unreleased cut of the film, using the hashtag #ReleasetheSnyderCut on social media.

One notable star didn't: Superman himself, Henry Cavill. In a recent interview, the actor was asked why he didn't say anything on November 17. It was question to which he didn't give a solid response. "I wouldn't say there's any particular reason... I miss my moustache, which is the most important thing," Cavill quipped, "For me, it was just a harrowing reminder that I didn't have it anymore... I just didn't want to dig that wound any deeper."

The last month alone has proven that there is still a demand for Zack Snyder's version of Justice League (directed by Joss Whedon), which was both a critical and financial failure that resulted in a $60 million loss for Warner Bros. back in 2017. Vocal proponents of the Snyder Cut's release generally seem confident that Snyder's original vision would prove to be a superior film.

In the years since Justice League, the DCEU itself seems to have moved on. The studio seems to be focusing on developing its major superheroes individually instead of rushing toward another ensemble feature. With successes such as Wonder Woman and Aquaman, there is little to suggest that this isn't the right direction for the shared universe, making any kind of major re-release of Justice League unlikely. In any case, Warner Bros. has made it clear that there are currently no plans to release the "Snyder Cut."
