Hellboy has a runtime. A German motion picture rating system organization recently revealed the runtime of the upcoming film. According to the release, the film will run for exactly 120 minutes.

In comparison, Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy film from 2004 had a runtime of 122 minutes. It's a fairly average length for a superhero film, with the exception being films like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Avengers: Infinity War, which are longer than the average by twenty minutes or more.

The upcoming film will adapt elements of three different Hellboy story arcs: "Darkness Calls," "The Wild Hunt" and "The Storm and the Fury." The R-rated reboot will be darker and bloodier than its predecessor, according to David Harbour, who plays the titular superhero. He has also made it a point to try and avoid comparisons between his portrayal of the character and that of Ron Perlman. Harbour previously explained the film will tell a different story with a slightly different character.

Arriving on April 12, director Neil Marshall’s Hellboy stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Milla Jovovich as Nimue, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida and Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio.
