This me and Hellboy creator like Mignola at last night’s premiere in nyc for @hellboymovie . I love him and what he does so much I reached out and touched his heart, because he has touched mine and so many others with that beautiful demon Hellboy. But, that really doesn’t make much sense. Except in my own self justifying brain. What happened in reality was just that I was very excited, and reached out and was caught on camera weirdly touching @artofmm. Oh, David.
The upcoming film draws considerably heavy inspiration from the original comic book source material, with the storyline The Wild Hunt by Mignola and Duncan Fegredo appearing to be a particularly strong influence.

While promoting the film, Harbour claimed it will be more faithful to the comic book than the previous two Guillermo del Toro-written and directed pictures, both of which starred Ron Perlman, further underscoring the importance of Mignola's work on bringing the character back to the big screen.
Arriving April 12, director Neil Marshall’s Hellboy stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Milla Jovovich as Nimue, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida and Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio.
