It's clobbering time!Heels -- Starz's upcoming professional wrestling-themed drama starring Arrow alum Stephen Amell -- has added retired WWE superstar CM Punk to its growing roster.RELATED: Heels: Stephen Amell's Starz Wrestling Drama Adds Mad Men, JAG AlumsAmell confirmed Punk's involvement with a training photo shared to social media, featuring the two smiling while standing inside the squared circle. "Please welcome [CM Punk] to [Heels]," Amell wrote on Twitter. "He was a little rusty in the ring yesterday, but I assured him it was just like riding a bike."

Real name Phillip Jack Brooks, CM Punk began his pro wrestling career in 1999, rising to prominence on the independent scene thanks to his time performing for Ring of Honor during the early-to-mid 2000s, during which he became the fifth-ever ROH World Champion. After signing a contract with WWE, Punk debuted for the company's Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental territory in 2005. In 2006, he made his main roster debut as part of WWE's rebooted version of ECW. He was later drafted to WWE's flagship show, Monday Night Raw, in 2008.

Including his time in OVW, Punk wrestled for WWE for nine years, performing regularly on ECW, Raw and Friday Night SmackDown over the course of his career. He racked up numerous accolades along the way, including the ECW Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the World Tag Team Championship (alongside Kofi Kingston), the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship. He is also a two-time Money in the Bank winner, and holds the distinction of being the first wrestler to win two consecutive Money in the Bank ladder matches. He famously set the pro wrestling world on fire in 2011 with his now-iconic "Pipe Bomb" promo, resulting in an angle that led to a WWE Championship victory over John Cena.

Punk notoriously departed WWE and retired from wrestling altogether in 2014, citing multiple grievances against the company's management and concerns for his own health, expressing doubt he'd ever step into the ring again. Since leaving wrestling, Punk has embarked on a number of other ventures, including writing for Marvel Comics and beginning a mixed martial arts career with UFC. After retiring from the octagon as well, he became an MMA commentator for Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC). He also made various appearances on FS1's WWE Backstage during its original run.
