Aya Cash, who portrayed the polarizing Stormfront in Season 2 of The Boys, recently revealed the reason she didn't engage with fans on social media while the show was airing.

"I had to sort of step away from the conversation because I couldn’t talk about what was happening and what was going to happen," Cash told Collider. "I definitely had moments where I felt terrible that people might have been hurt by this character and seeing this character."

The actor added that "2020 was an incredibly intense year for many, many reasons" and the fact that she was portraying a white supremacist on the show was at the forefront of her mind.

"So a lot of feelings were coming up and I wanted to be like, 'Don't worry! She's gonna get hers. There's no way that this is OK! No one is saying this is OK!'" she recalled. "You know, I hadn't seen them either! [Laughs] So trust that everything was gonna come together and that people were going to feel satisfied, and maybe there'd even be some catharsis around it and spark some discussions."

Cash also noted that the reason she loves acting in sci-fi and fantasy projects is the fact that "you are able to see things sometimes clearer because it's not so personal." She elaborated, "So I was hopeful that that would be where we ended up. But I couldn’t interact in the same way. Or I felt nervous about interacting because I couldn’t talk about it fully until the end."

While the actor admitted it sucked to "hurt people" with her portrayal of Stormfront, she found comfort in knowing the character ultimately got what she deserved. "She's bad," Cash concluded. "And there are fun moments of bad, but there are also just, she's disgusting."

Stormfront debuted as the newest member of the Seven in Season 2. It was soon revealed, however, that the newest Supe was actually the original Supe. Specifically, Stormfront was the widow of Vought Industries founder Frederick Vought, and still held on to their shared Nazi ideology. Season 2 ended with Stormfront being incinerated by Ryan's heat vision. While it wasn't necessarily confirmed that Stormfront was dead, Cash recently said she didn't expect to return in Season 3.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy.
