HBO's Watchmen Debuts First Look At Rorschach & Ozymandias

Rorschach from Watchmen

HBO's eagerly anticipated Watchmen television series has released new promos providing first looks at two major characters returning from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' landmark comic book series.

Posted on the series' Instagram account, the clip shows armed police officers wearing bright yellow masks before an older Ozymandias, portrayed by Jeremy Irons, announces "It's only just begun."

The clip was briefly seen last night in a sizzle reel released by HBO teasing their 2019 programming, which included footage from the return of Game of Thrones for its final season. A previous promo showed a man walking through a hallway filled with police officers while wearing a Stetson before cutting to a brief glimpse of Rorschach without his own usual hat.

It is unclear if Walter Kovacs is the man behind the Rorschach mask, given the character's final fate at the end of the comic book series and apparent time jump with an older Ozymandias.

The series is expected to premiere on HBO sometime in 2019.
