Composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross -- known collectively as Nine Inch Nails -- have officially taken home a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for their work on HBO's Watchmen, winning the honor of Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie, or Special for the series' premiere episode, "It's Summer and We're Running Out of Ice."

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, Reznor and Ross' Emmy win means they now only need to win a Tony Award in order to achieve EGOT status. For the uninitiated, EGOT is the designation given to people who have won at least one Emmy, one Grammy, one Oscar and one Tony. Reznor and Ross previously won the Oscar for Best Original Score for their work on David Fincher's 2010 film The Social Network. The duo also won the Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for their work on Fincher's 2011 film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Reznor himself has two additional Grammys for Nine Inch Nails' music, which he won in 1993 and 1996, respectively.

While accepting the Emmy for his and Ross' work on Watchmen, Reznor called the DC Comics-based HBO series "relevant, smart and daring." The pair were also nominated in the category of Outstanding Original music and Lyrics for their song "The Way it Used to Be," which played during Watchmen's sixth episode, "This Extraordinary Being."

Developed by Damon Lindelof, HBO's Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Jean Smart, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, James Wolk, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.
