A new comic series from HBO Max and DC will see ordinary people becoming superheroes to promote the new streaming service.

To The Max, written by Ivan Cohen, is a three-part digital series featuring art from several top talents. “DC and HBO Max both share in the belief that great storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to engage and connect with people,” DC's Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee said in a statement. “We are excited to share these new and original stories of Hector, Brian, Olivia and Max with the DC fans, and all fans of great entertainment content."

The comics will also feature multiple Easter eggs that hint at the content on the service. "These are superhero stories at their core, but they are also a pop culture scavenger hunt for the most media savvy!” Lee continued.

The characters in To The Max are Hector, a teacher who becomes an interstellar hero when he finds a strange device; Brian, a scuba diver who gains aquatic powers; and Olivia, a standup comic with elastic abilities. The comics feature art from Scott Eaton, Hendry Prasetya and Laura Braga with cover art provided by Lee, Jorge Jimenez and Amanda Conner, respectively.
