In the midst of the tidal wave of announcements from yesterday's WarnerMedia investor meeting, HBO Max made its first international move by announcing a partnership with Canada's Bell Media.

In a deal that includes HBO Max's newly announced titles like the Game of Thrones Targaryen spinoff and Green Lantern TV series, Deadline reports that CTV and the streaming service Crave will house HBO programming for Canada starting in 2020. HBO Original Programming is already available on Crave, but this HBO Max deal means the partnership between the two subscription-based services has deepened. It also marks the first international deal involving HBO Max, with more surely soon to follow.

"Bell Media has been a long-term and strategic partner for both Warner Bros. and HBO," Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Television Distribution Jeffrey Schlesinger said. "It is only logical for us to expand the relationship by adding the upcoming original programming from HBO Max as well as extend the successful relationship covering our feature films, network series, and cable programming. All of this together makes Bell Media a great Canadian home for all of these assets from WarnerMedia."

HBO Max, which will also include the CW's Arrowverse and a Veronica Mars reboot, will launch in May 2020.
