A Harry Potter fan game show and a retrospective special on the films of the iconic series are coming to HBO Max, in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone being released in theaters.

The unscripted quiz competition will challenge the trivia knowledge of the biggest Harry Potter fans in a limited series of four one-hour challenges, and the event will be capped by the film retrospective. The WarnerMedia Kids & Family production will premiere later this year on Cartoon Network and TBS as well as HBO Max.

Casting for the quiz show is now open to Wizarding World fans in the U.S. who would like a chance to participate onscreen, and there will also be a component for those who want to play along from home. The competition will feature surprise special guests and include hundreds of questions about the fictional universe.

Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics President Tom Ascheim remarked, "All Potter fans can gear up for this ultimate one-of-a-kind celebration by embracing their inner Hermione Granger and studying their Wizarding World knowledge. For fans who have always wanted to discover what it might be like to take the O.W.L. exams, this is as close as they are going to get!"

Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton will produce the four Wizarding World one-hour quiz competition shows, while Casey Patterson will executive produce the anniversary retrospective special. The event will air later this year.
